Transmitter help

Hey guys, so I'm looking for a new transmitter for my 98 4Runner. I have the Vip rs3000 system on it and when j got the truck it didn't come with the transmitter. I found a few on eBay and Amazon that didn't work when I activated them and today a lock smith told me that he could order one for me for $152 plus $35 for programming. And if it didn't work I pretty much lose the $187, oh and it takes 15 days for it to get here.

Now I know Toyota doesn't make them anymore but I'm wondering if there are any replacements that I can get.

Also today I tried to make my alarm go off but it wouldn't, I locked the truck and waited a while and then I pulled the lock open and got nothing, usually my alarm in my other car goes off when this happens with it. I know I have a system because the ecu is under the driver seat and when I went to program. The new replacements I had to go through a process where the red led from the security section went and blinked. But it just wasn't catching the transmitter. I found another supposedly "original" transmitter on eBay, I asked the guy if it was for a vip rs3000 and he said yes, and when I asked what it came in he said a Camry. But it probably won't work on my 4Runner

Anyways, are there any replacements. Or maybe I need to reboot something and try with a replacement?

Then order this: Genuine Gray Grey Toyota Dealer Installed RS3000 Keyless Remote PT398 07101 | eBay

Oh and be sure to clear the Alarm ECU of the old remotes first. Otherwise the new one won't connect.
