I know I should look this up and I have. I can not get my new key to program. I have the correct instructions, am I not talking to the vehicle correctly? Should the doors be open or closed, you are only inserting the keys, not turning them, the light should flash for 80 seconds then turn off? I dont know. I got the remotes programmed.

Where did you purchase your keys? ebay?

Programming keyless entry

You need to have a working remote keyless entry unit to program a second unit (when using the lock 5 times close door, open door, lock 5 times method). After turning the key twice in the last part of the instructions, use the working unit first, i.e. press both lock/unlock together then shortly after press the lock buttion, then program the second unit.

If you do not have a working unit, I believe you will have to visit a dealer for programming, and iy's not cheap.

Yes, you need a working master key, but the keys that they sell on ebay, even the keys that look just like OEM transponder keys, do not always work. They are defective. You can definately try buying keys from ebay, but if they do not work even at the dealer, you are just losing money. It's just safe to get it done at the dealer. I know it costs a lot but you could be losing more money.
