Your rig looks great! It's got the right amount of awesome. I thought you mentioned a Satoshi grill in the future? How's that coming?

Thanks! I've got a spare grill cut and some mesh on the way so it'll be soon. Not sure if i'm gonna do the toyota emblem in the middle or not though.
 
I feel ya as far as the money goes! I'm 17 too and it all vaporizes come payday when I drive the thing home. Nice work, what a ride!
 
Well this sucks guys. a couple days ago my engine crapped out on me on the way home and started knocking real bad. Got it towed to the shop yesterday and now they are saying I need a new engine.
I seafoamed it and changed the oil about a week ago, which makes me think seafoam was the culprit. However i did it exactly how you are supposed to according to a thread on here, and I drove it for about 3 days with no problem.
So yeah, no runner for a while. Most likely gonna be driving my old XJ that i use as a toy at my ranch for the time being. I'm hoping that I can find a good deal on a refurbished/used engine that way I can get my baby back and healthy again.

Dude! That sucks! I hope you get it back up and running soon! Btw I'm heading down to Houston tomorrow morning (spring) from Nacogdoches so my buddy can do my daystar 2.5/1.5 and FJ swap done. What part of houston are ou in and where have you gotten your alignments done? Anywhere in spring/woodlands area?

I got mine done at a pepboys lol, i'm sure there are many places that'll probably be better than them. they did it for 70-80 bucks i think

yep everything was totally normal. Filled it up with the right type & amount of oil. if it wasn't the seafoams fault i have no idea what it could of been. I mean its a toyota after all, they don't break!!!

What did the shop tell you? Just that you need a new engine and that's all? Any loss of coolant? Did you ever over heat it?

No coolant leak but the temp guage started heading towards the redline before i cut the engine off.
Shop is saying its a blown headgasket.
 
Oh no! I hate to hear that about your engine...

Good luck and keep us posted on what the culprit was and progress with the repair!

I looked at engines on there because I was bored. And a majority of what came up were Tacoma engines. So what I was thinking is you could throw a Taco engine in. If it fits. And then add in the 4.0 V6 Tacoma Supercharger.
 
Hey I know this is a big if since I think you're wanting to throw a new engine in, but if you start parting this out, I want first dibs on the bumper. I'm only a few hours from you.
 
Update: Found an engine with 34K on it and will be purchasing it and getting it installed within a couple weeks hopefully. I miss my 4runner!!!!!!!!
For now I've been driving my dads 07 Tundra alot and its a great truck. Even though it feels like driving a bus compared to my 4runner.
