TRD 20" Wheel Tire combo's for Sale

TRD has just released a new 20" Wheel/Tire Set for the Tundra, Sequoia, & 4Runner. This single-piece, 20” x 9.5” wheel is constructed of cast aluminum, features a machine finished lip, six spokes and matching TRD engraved center cap. Chrome-plated steel lug nuts are also included. The wheel is clear-coated to protect and further enhance the polished luster of the aluminum. Matched with the wheels are Goodyear Eagle GT2 P275/45/R20 low profile tires.

Aren't those the BBS wheels that are on EBay??

Do a search for "Tundra wheel"...

And why not ship them with the TPM valve stems, so we could get them programmed at the dealers??

I believe most TRD wheels are made for TRD by BBS.

If the valve stems were an option, the newsletter all the dealers got regarding the '04 issue would have mentioned it.

I even contacted the head of TRD on the east coast about it but he didnt mention that as an option, so there might be a reason why, I just dont know it.

I am guessing that you work for KinderHook Toyota? Is that who are selling the wheels through? I might be interested, although it might take a while to be able to purchase them. Will the dealership be running this price for long or limited time?

Yes I do work for Kinderhook Toyota, its is thru our dealership, I accept Credit Cards, Money Order, Check, Your first born (if they are well behaved), etc.

As far as I know its a set of 4 wheels. Wheel and tire packages never/rarely do all 5 wheels.

I am not sure how long we will be running this special.

I do not have any larger picture then that. sorry. Thats is all I was provided.

265-65-17 = 30.56 inches

275-45-20 = 29.74 inches

....which equates to Speedometer Difference: 2.747% too fast

Diameter Difference: 2.69%

or equal to a + 1.6 MPH difference

I havent seen anything larger then a 22 on a new body style 4runner. I have a friend with a 2001 that has 24's on it and 12 TV's.

You've probablly read the 'hot' rumor - that Toyota is going to start selling 4Runners bundled with the S/C - which would be - cool - the new 270hp & s/c should put out nearly 400hp - I would think

Anyway - sorry to digress- but just dying to know what's going on???

There has not been anything thru toyota about this. I also dont know if the new vvti V8's would work with the superchargers.

also- TRD parts are not allowed to be 'bundled' into the price of a new vehicle. its a disclaimer on every TRD parts release document.

I'm currently on the hunt for 20" or 22" wheels but I've got some questions about tire size in relation to the speedometer.

If I go with 20" wheels, I know I can get 265/50/20 tires and just about match my stock wheels so my speedometer will be correct, but what about 22"...do you know of one? I can't seem to find a tire that would do the same. So, the question is can the wheel size setting be changed electronically in the 4Runner so that the speedometer compensates automatically for the wheels and keep my odometer correct as well?

Next, what about the tire pressure sensors? Can I add them to the new wheels (how much) or disable the control unit some way so I don't get the ironious reading on my dash?

for tires, check Kumho and BFGoodrich, they specialize in large diameter tires.

I dont know if the sensors can be moved. I also do not believe there is any way to recalibrate the speedometer (That I know of), I imagine if you could many people would be doing it, like when you take off your stock 14" wheels on your car and throw on 18 or 19's, like myself.

When I first saw 22's seemed almost too big on the 4runner, my friend with 24's is just way over the top. I think 20's would be comfortable but still look sporty. Plus these are all backed by TRD.

I really dont like the way they look on that truck, too bling. I Prefer a polished or gunmetal style wheel thats large, thats just my opinion.

There's a electronic speedo converter that some of the big 4X4s use to adjust for large tires...

Can't remember the name, but Summit Racing sells them...

And I agree, 20's in grey/gunmetal/polished would look best...

As for the look, I'm also more impressed by the look of the grey/gunmetal/polished look.

Since I've got the silver accents on the bumpers and the silver roof rack and steps I wanted to stay away from chrome. Problem, is I'm having trouble finding a large selection of 20" non-chrome rims. I'll keep looking though
