I'm excited. I was going to swap out the front coils because I don't like the spacers but this might be a great option.

Hey after reading through about 60 pages of 2 different threads I am not sure what to do with my trdp. I would like to keep the stock suspension but get a little more height as well and had seen a lot of members talk about the toytech lift kit they made for the pros with the spacer and the 2" coils for the rear. Then I say this thread and my brain is mush now... hahaha so you have some coils for the front to lift it up instead of the spacers. What would you recommend using for the rear coils? thank you and sorry if this is a dumb question.

"Recommend" is a relative term depending on what you're wanting out of your lift, especially with regard to extra weight on the front or rear. Mike is obviously a great resource for his stuff, and there are tons of people willing to chime in with help on specific questions on other options like the Toytec kit.
Keep in mind that the Bilstein suspension on the stock TRDP has the front sitting 1" higher than other trims, the rear is the same for all trims. The Dobinson's coil lift will get you another 1" over that (2" total lift) in the front. The Toytec spacer lift will get you an additional 2" lift (3" total lift) in the front, but you're losing a bit of overall wheel travel because spacers achieve lift by compressing the springs (called "preload"). This also stiffens the ride up a bit because the spring is essentially being forced into operating at a higher rate than normal.
It's not a dumb question, lifts are a little confusing once you really delve into them. Mike listed the Dobinsons options for the rears a few posts down from his initial one here: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-gen-t4rs/238640-trd-pro-4runner-lifted-coil-options-dobinsons.html. There is also still the 1.5" SAW / Wheeler's coils and many others.

Hahaha yeah a little bit. Reading all this and trying to digest it in between helping clients is killing me but I had a stage 2 icon on order and just canceled it after searching on here yesterday. The spacers and all that makes sense to me just fine and I would like to keep my suspension but get a bit more height out of it with out compromising the ride or the performance if possible. I don't normally have a lot of weight on the rear. I never tow anything and don't plan on putting a metal bumper on. Maybe a rack and RTT and basic gear for a weekend in the desert or rockys. I like the height the toytec offers overall but I would like to keep it level if possible, no rake, but not have to sacrifice toooooo much on the overall ride if possible. I go to the desert often in southern Utah and to a little rock climbing and rally in the sand and then similar terrain for northern Utah as well. I've just bounced around on a lot of different options.

For what you'd get out of it for the cost, the Dobinson's coils sound like they'd suit you just fine. Their new front coils paired with your stock rears will get you more level and you keep your TRD Billies at a fraction of the cost of an Icon, and with more useable suspension travel than spacers. The Toytec kit will get you more lift if the look is really what you're after, it just won't travel quite as far. Plenty of people have posted about wheeling with the kit though, so that's not an issue.

Yep, tons of options for everyone from lots of different companies!!
We could make a taller coil again for the TRD Pro, but it's at the risk of riding around with the struts pretty stretched out, which could cause to them not lasting as long as one would expect. We chose to start out with a 1" lift first over the Pro height, but can always add more options later if there's enough demand.
That 1" height seems to be the sweet spot from what I've read and seen just to gain a little, but not hurt the ride, and also reduce a bit of the rake.

Mike...saw this thread and figured you might be the solution. I've got a 4Runner TRD Pro with the toytec 2" lift. I just bought a winch and C4 Fab winch bumper, total weight 145lbs. Do you have a replacement coil spring I can get to compensate for the added weight to keep my front end at the height it is now? Something that works with my toytec set up? Thanks!

Sorry this took a little digging. I took these measurements a while back when I wanted to get a small lift out of the TRDP and up the load rating on the coils. As mentioned, closest off the shelf coil you'll find is a 3x14 spring commonly found by King.
The stock TRDP front shocks are nearly identical to the Bilstein 6112. The difference is that the two higher spring perches are omitted from the TRD shocks.
Toytec makes a 1 and 2" spacer which is does essentially the same as a higher spring perch and should give a 1-2" lift. You'll gain a little more preload translating to a slightly stiffer ride, and get a little less uptravel.

Do the TRD Pro front coils pictured here have a flat top and bottom? Looks like the bottom is flat, just trying to confirm the top as well. Thanks!

Mtndog67, I have the same question. Did you ever get a solution for it from Dobinson's Mike or elsewhere?
My front bumper/winch weighed down the front to under 2" of the rear. Looks horrid.

So, I did finally install the bumper/winch and as predicted, the rake is very noticeable. I did call Dobinsons and they assured me they could make a coil to whatever spec I wanted but would need new shocks as well. Their shocks are slightly smaller than 2” which is my only hang up. In the meantime, my son installed a King suspension on his 18 Taco. He prepared for the eventual bumper winch upgrade and got 14” coils with a spring rate of 600 or 650... can’t recall which. Expensive, yes.. but it’s quality. I think that’s my plan. Full King, 14”, 650 LB spring and custom colored in red. $300 xtra per King. I’ll post pics when it’s done

Just bought the TRD PRO suspension for my 2018 4Runner Off Road.
Question is with no added weight, how much of a lift will i get in the front if I pair it with the King 3" x 14" 600lb spring?
