For those of you that did a full suspension swap (like going to Icons) what are you doing with your old suspension? I am going to a Bilstein 6112/5160 combo and the 5160s for the rear are back ordered until next Feb. I think the TRD Pro suspension is pretty much the same as the 6112/5160.
I already have the 6112s for the front, but if you want to sell your used TRD Pro rear shocks please send me a PM of the price and number of miles. Thanks.

I'm not sure what good it would do for me?
I don't even have the truck yet. I've just been stockpiling some stuff for when it gets here, and surfing the forum for mods.
Just found out today it's not gonna hit the port till 11/25, and won't be at the dealer till 12/11 or so....
I will prob keep the stock tires, but those BFG KO2's look really nice. This lift with 275 or 285's would be great. Not sure if I'd need the SpiderTraxx if I go to the 275's?

I am going to "attempt" to do the install myself starting tonight, and in the morning, as recommended by simonsay, I will take the front strut assembly somewhere to have the springs compressed & reassembled with the Toytec parts.
Simonsay, I appreciate all of your detailed information & pictures! Any final pointers or hints to do this successfully on my own?

It looks like it can be done without using a spring compressor if you have all the other tools. Just thought I'd chime in. Where in the DFW area are you?

I think I might try this one on my own too actually. I can't stand to pay somebody $450-ish to do something I feel like i can do myself. That said I have ZERO suspension experience...lol. I'll probably just buy or borrow a spring compression tool.

Take the Co's to a pep boys and ask them to change them. Most likely $20-30. I did my FJ myself to icon fronts and OME rears and it was simple enough. A lift would make it so much faster though!!

That thread seems to be pretty detailed and pretty close to how I did it. It really shouldn't be that hard, just take your time. Nothing needed to be forced with anything more than a little tap. If there are members in your area (which seems that there is), I'd ask if 1 or 2 wanted to come over and help out.

"Too Easy" says Toytec in regards to swapping rear spring in the kit
Worked with Toytec and it turns out they can/will swap out the 2" lift super flex with the 1-1/2" Sway Aways (SAW) for $38.01 more!
Also he said that "Black Friday" is right around the corner for 10% off. If you folks can wait it would be worth the savings. I'm going to try.:clock:

Wasn't too bad to install, was it? It's pretty straight forward, especially if you have the tools.
I got the lift on, and love it. I don't know if I would do it on my own again, but it's done! More to follow!

It was pretty straight forward....It just took me a lot longer since I did it alone, and since it was my first suspension work ever. It took me a LONG time trying to get the front strut/spring assembly back in, while trying to pry down the control arm ect.
I definitely like it, and it drives just as smooth/straight. I'll probably still get an alignment in the next week just to be safe.

I don't know if I am supposed to want to see bigger tires on these trucks; but, I gotta say, I think I like it with the stockers on there.
