Trd pro lift question

Don't have time to read entire thread right now. Does anyone know if you can fit 285s w/o trimming by using the 1" front spacer from Toytec on the Pro? Since the Pro is already 1" higher in the front over other Runners I'm thinking with this spacer it willbe 2" higher than stock runners. Will that be enough?

Just got the cornfed 2/1.5 inch kit installed. Rides excellent and looks pretty level to me. Currently awaiting my truck to finish its alignment.

Any additional pics with the 265s? Looking to go with the cornfed kit as well.

Are you speaking of spacers only on the front?..and no change to the rear?

Correct. Not worried bout the rear. Rubbing concern is in the front. I'm reffering to this kit: 1" Front Lift for TRD BAJA and Pro Edition Tacoma & 4Runner

I'm just think even with that front 1" spacer added to the Pro being a total of 2" higher than a stock non Pro probably wouldnt be enough to fit 285s w/o trimming. Probably going to need the full Toytec Pro lift which puts you a total of about 3" over a stock non Pro runner

You're right. Full kit definitely better but after spending 56k last week try telling the wife that. Lol

Maybe it is the rake? Not sure. Shaolin's build off of page 2 was awesome with the 3/4 front spacer and 1.25" wheel spacer.

This is a similar route I will be going. Toytec 1" leveling kit for the front and 1.25 Spidertrax spacers. Not looking for anymore lift than that... at least until I wear these stock tires all the way down. I'm pretty happy with the stock stance of mine except for the minor front rake.

3/4 spacer. 1/4 inch of rake in the front. No rubbing with spidertrax wheel spacers. Take a look at my post on page 2. When it's almost time for new tires. TRD PRO LIFT KIT and 285/70/17s.

Silly question:
I bought the Toytec kit, i am debating between 275 and 285. What's the consensus on the rubbing? I don't want any rubbing as this is a family car and do not want any risk. Thank you all

Not to be offensive, but if this is a family car and you don't want risk, leave the lift off and the stock tires on, man. Any lift, any tire change, and you risk rubbing bottom line. Fortunately the fixes are pretty easy (fender liner mod / light bumper trim / alignment) and most people seem to be fitting larger tires without much issue.

Personally I like the 285s. The 34's and 255s are "skinny tires" aka "pizza cutters". Depends on the look you like. One advantage of 255s is you can get them in a "C" load which is lighter and smoother riding. The 34's come in a "D" load which is nice and the 285s come in an "E" load which had pro's an cons. Tough as hell, more resistant to cuts/damage, but can provide a harsher ride and weigh more (harder of fuel).

I've ran every tire you mentiond. I really liked the sst pros in 285s. Had them on my JK in ever scenerio. Very pleased with them. All tires mention are good tires.

I think ultimately, with the Cornfed spacer lift on the TRD Pro, the front will need to be at least .25" higher than the rear and probably .5" in order to obtain an optimum "level" looking stance. I went with 2.25"F/2"R and am happy, but there's still a smidgen of a factory front rake. Which of course is for crash rating purposes... I would be willing to bet though if you measure from the center of the hub, front and back measurements will be equal.

didnt realize we could do a 2.25.....kinda wish i went that route as my rear sits a little too much higher than the front than i like. might wait to install my ecotechne rack to see how it sits after but thinking i could use the front up a little more

Nothing fancy. Lift is Toytec 2 inch TRD Pro (with SAW 1.5 rear coils) with n fab fake sliders.
