Based on what has happened with my threads on this site and my useful information being deleted, I am not producing any harnesses at the moment because of that and time constraints due to work. I designed and developed these based on projects I did to my 4R, and made extras for those who wanted them in my spare time.

I only chimed in the other day in this thread because suddenly the solution that I went and spent time to develop and put together by request of folks on here was suddenly being copied and offered by another individual without a vendor tag months later after my material was deleted.

I am prototyping some new stuff and making some revisions to old stuff, but until I decide, and figure out if, when, and how I will be sharing my information on projects I have done, no harnesses will be made. Whether I change sites, decide to do a blog, make my own, whatever. I will chime in and help folks with electrical questions and others when I can on here because at the end of the day we all have a 4R and sometimes need help, but that will really be all. Unfortunately that's the way it has ended up, and if that changes I will let people know. Thank you for understanding.

Here Take a look. Here was my PDF and harness. Funny how NOW you are making something I spent time putting together.







I find it extremely disturbing that all my threads were deleted and now a few months later here is another person pretty much copying my retrofit and thread after a moderator deletes them. Coincidently [MENTION=308409]KTJO4x4[/MENTION] a thread for you and your products is still open and created by a mod. Hey someone want to explain what's going on here?

I consider myself fortunate to have benefitted from knowing you and your contributions to the forum in the months after I bought my 2018 CavBlue Pro. I enjoy my accessory meter display mod, footwell lighting mod and especially the turn signal lights with puddle mod you allowed me to test every single day to this day and EVERYONE on this forum is worse off for how you were treated leading to your withdrawal from the forum and all of the really cool things I am sure you were working on to release in the future. You are a super talented dude with a day job that makes this stuff the last thing you need to do but were sharing with the community for the betterment of everyone. I miss you for sure and truth be told haven't really participated here much in 2020 mostly because of what happened with you.

I hope everyone is staying well and safe living in this Twilight Zone of a situation we are in right now.

[MENTION=150567]Old Red[/MENTION] I am new here (and to being a 4runner owner) and have spent the better part of a day reading through old threads trying to figure out if it would be possible to get your custom harnesses (all three). After landing here I finally have an answer. I have to say that I am pretty bummed that getting the harnesses isn't an option right now, but at the same time after reading though it all, I fully get and support that decision. It was pretty clear that this is something you enjoy doing for fun and like helping people out with. It was also pretty clear that these were no vendor product vs something to make it easier for people. I do alot of custom mods and know the pain in the butt they can be just to figure out. Awesome that you put all the information out there and a shame that the only way to see it is archived web pages due to mods taking down how to posts. I also get while this could be entirely DIY it would be a large pain to get the proper connectors hence why your approach was provide the harnesses vs tell people the parts since they would be difficult to get. Most people do not have the expertice either to put together a harness.

Anyways just wanted to say its a bummer I missed out on these harnesses but not nearly as big a bummer as how you were treated for helping everyone out here. It was clear that people liked your work and that you enjoyed helping them. I was quite excited to find these mods since I think they are quite cool. I hope you decide to start this up again be it here or elsewhere. If you ever do I'll be there ready to hop on the first batches.

Hit up ktjo4x4. She’s in the process of making a plug and play harness for the mirrors. Last time I spoke to her, she was waiting on supplier for some connectors. And if you don’t want to wait and are a bit handy, you can look at some wiring diagrams and splice some wires, will work too.

Bumping this thread in hopes that the forum admins see the error in the way they handled this, and make it right. Not only did they selectively alienate a helping member without explaining the situation to him, but they relegated the rest of us to be resentful of their behavior. Old Red deserves an apology.

I have successfully upgraded my 2014-2020 Toyota 4Runner SR-5 to use TRD Pro mirrors with turn signals and puddle lamp.

This project would not have been possible without the retrofit wiring harness and detailed instructions provided by Tanner, aka Old Red. With his kit, you can upgrade the standard heated mirrors on a 2014-2020 Toyota 4Runner SR-5 to also include the side mirror turn signal and puddle lamp found TRD Pro mirrors. In upgrading my 2019 SR-5, I used aftermarket TRD Pro mirrors with the aftermarket sequential LED turn signals. I've posted the finished results on YouTube. Total project cost was $270 for all three products.

Good evening,

I just got finished upgrading my 2020 pro with power folding mirrors with puddle lights and turn signals (puddle lights and turn signals never option for this model)

I was able to bring in the turn signal positive and negative through the door dongle into the wiring harness on the drivers side bottom. (This is the very bottom connector) You will see 1 pink and 1 yellow wire in the photo that were tapped for the positive left and right signals. The grounds go straight to chassis.

I was able to go into pillar A on the drivers side and attach my ground for the puddle lights to pin 14 in the connector. See attached diagram. The positives need to be attached to a 12vdc constant on. The lights now work with the remote control and follow the patterns of the dome light in turning on and off. I have not rigged it for a manual override.

is there any reason why no one is sharing this info? I'm also trying to acheive this. altho i don't have a OLDRED harness i'm atleast trying.
