TRD Pro Suspension Coil Spings

Hello guys, I have a 2018 4Runner Off Road with no added weight.

I just received my TRD Pro suspension kit part number PTR13-35140 and want to use different coils. I have read several posts about this but nothing concrete.

I would like a 2.5" lift in the front and a 2" lift in the back. I know Dobinsons has coils for the back so no problem.

What to do about the front if I do NOT want to use spacers?

Would the KING 3" x 14" 600lb spring do the trick ?

Yea, I researched this extensively. Your best bet is going to be a the HD 2" lift coil from Dobinsons. This *should* be 15" in length and around 600-650lb.

That, or use the kit as it comes out of the box and gain the extra 1-1.5" in front with a preload spacer or similar.

Reading through the forums I could have sworn I saw a post that did a measurement and found the coils to be 3" ID, 13" in length and around 550lbs

Were they talking about the 4runner trd pro suspension vs the FJ "pro" suspension??

You are correct. That’s the specs for the 4runner specific TRD Pro suspension. FJ is 600lbs and 14” since the perch on the front shocks sit 1”lower

So which would be better to buy to get a 2.5" total lift from stock;

A - 15" spring with 600 lbs
B - 14" spring with 650 lbs
C - 15" spring with 650 lbs

Note: Stock weight upfront

Sorry brotha. I'm unsure of this myself. You are in unfamiliar territory going this route. Not much info out there

You're confusing the shit out of everyone by starting a separate thread about this. The FJ TRD Pro kit is different from the T4R TRD Pro kit. It was already stated in the other thread that there's a difference and the FJ version has 14" coils.

Considering there is not "TRD Pro" for the FJ it would probably be best to call it the Trail Team Ultimate Suspension

stock front end I'd do 600lb coils for the Cadillac ride

I'm on 650lb and they run well on close to full 'soft' setting on the shock... I'm also with a 2nd battery up front. Ride is mainly a preference thing though

Is there a left and right for the 14” FJ spring?


I am on the fence on what route to take for some increased ground clearance. I like the ride of the Trd Pro Bilsteins. I don’t see an advantage of getting the Bilstein 6112 being that they are almost the same shock.

I’ve been thinking about doing the FJ spring until the OE Bilsteins are worn out then upgrade. Others have recommended the Toytec 2” kit also.

What is a match to the FJ spring for the rear? If I had a choice I would like to decrease the rake but I don’t neccecerly want level either. I would like to maintain some load hauling ability.
