Actually the scoop restricts your front end view some and it also causes a bad reflection from the sun. So that is actually one positive for the SR5.
Factory lockers are nice, but you can add lockers later on so that's not a huge deal.
Terrain/CRAWL control is awesome if you know how to use it and is worth having.
KDSS changes the driving dynamics on and off road for the better, it's probably why it's standard on all higher end Toyota/Lexus vehicles.
Can you go far with a lifted SR5 with added lockers? Yes.
What's the question again?
Thats debatable. Had a white '04 Sport w/scoop and no problems. Really miss having one on the '14 SR5P. But everyone has their own opinion and to each their own.
I didn't think it was a big problem until heading down the Como Lake road in Colorado late one evening. Sun was reflecting off of the scoop directly into my eyes. Gunna get a decal though to solve that, although I may have to get an SR5 person to help me with it since TRD OR people don't know how to do modifications.
Come on up to Arlington VA, I’ll make sure it’s done right.
Haha, the scoop would look good but my lockers would be gone!
However, the KDSS, Crawl, and Multi-Terrain cannot be added to an SR5.
Perhaps not by the factory, but a couple folks here have added crawl control to SR5s. Brand new parts, rought 2500k, salvaged about 5 to 600.
All the brains are pretty much in the switch itself.
Easy enough to DIY, go on the more challenging end. Lockers on the other hand are something I wouldn't even touch
just some dude walking along side of his truck with the crawl engaged... right link?
Its an interesting system, not doubt, but it still can be added. Old Red has it, would be interested if anyone did it on a limited.
It probably is possible, just not sure how nicely it would play with the slightly different drive train, i.e. the torsen center diff. Someone will do it eventually.
In all honesty, why don't the TRD's have the center diff?
