TRD Supercharger Install: Broken Bypass Valve Nipple

I was preparing to install a used TRD Supercharger (2nd gen) on my 2000 4runner SR5 this weekend.

Reading over the instruction manual and inspecting the supercharger I noticed that the vacuum nipple on the bypass valve is broken off.

Should I order a replacement, or is there a McGyver-ish workaround someone can recommend?

I've found going to a Toyota Dealership with the part number may warrant a lower price...

However, I've seen some guys fix similar issues. Only thing is, you'd need the mating/broken piece. Using a WD40 or Brake Cleaner/aerosol straw (the tiny red ones). Put the straw inside the nipple and glue the pieces back together. Otherwise, it's probably best to buy a new one for headache's sake

I can't see the other side of the broken part but if there's even 3/8" left intact for the hose to go on you should be fine.

Use contact cement and a small hose clamp.

Just make sure the hose is fastened securely and can't wiggle back and forth.

That's my 2 cents.

That was my thought too. If you have enough left to secure a hose clamp it'll do just fine and same a bit of money.

I'm going to try both approaches... I went ahead and ordered the bypass valve from my favorite online Toyota parts provider, because my local dealer had a 3-5 day wait and cost $80.

In the meantime, I really want to get the supercharger installed this weekend, so I'm going to cobble something together using contact cement, hose clamps, rubberbands, duct tape, whatever it takes!

The nipple is broken at an angle, so on one side there's about 1/4", but the other is only about 1/8"... I think I can create a seal for a temporary fix, but in the long run I want the thing to be right, so I'll swap on the replacement valve when it arrives next week sometime.
