Like I said, if its actual long travel with some work in it, cool. But if its a spacer lift made to look like long travel, hella-homo.

In Southern CA the nose high look comes from REAL Prerunners that try to keep the weight in the rear so that the front float over bumps when you're hauling a$$ through the desert.

That being said, I don't expect most people from other areas of the country to understand the "look" of a Prerunner. SoCal's the minority when it comes to this "fad", but the Baja 1000 might be something you might want to google to understand why the nose high lifts are rampant around these parts (not such a fad around here, that race has been around long before 4runners were ever made). I personally think it looks better on a truck than a 4runner because it makes a 4runner look like it has saggy a$$ syndrome, but that's coming from someone who's owned a couple long travel caged Toyota prerunner trucks.

I also don't like an excessive stink bug rake, and only think it's necessary of you're hauling loads. The rear should be no more than 1" higher than the front otherwise it is just as equally for aesthetics as the nose high look.

Exactly. I dont see why people complain about the Cali guys going with the Prerunner Baha look. Its what you guys do out there.

You dont see a full Rock Crawling rig rolling on the beach and dunes do you! I live in Colorado so its a rare thing to see a prerunner style truck but we do have them.

But I agree it has no place on a 4runner because it makes it look broken. But to each his own. Now if you had some fiberglass from fenders and a cut off top in the rear with roll cage and mounted tire it would look awesome.

have you ever seen or heard of king of the hammers (KOH) goggle it of not. those guys are doing 100+ out through the desert in full on rock crawling buggies, solid axle 40+ tires yeah and they awesome.


and the back end higher than the front is also a set up just like the prerunner nose high set up. the back end being up like a lot of our rigs is so that when we load them down with gear and spare parts for wheeling trips or camping trips or heaven forbid overland trips, they will sit level. -me personally i dont like rake either way -front or rear, but i know the reason for my truck having some rake and so ill just have to live with it untill i load it down for a wheeling trip lol

Haha yeah i guess i can see how you guys cant grasp the concept in the mountains **** yall have run offs just for when you get going to fast...well no spacers for me, actually to be honest I left my front up a little bc I was going to get a shrockworks front bumper (see told you I liked you rig RIP) and I am in houston so I was trying to save on shipping. How much does that thing weigh btw? you get any extra sag in the front? Anywho decided a diffferent direction and I will be taking the 4runner in before i head out to my next rig for a month...im taking it into a fab place called Gas Pedal Industries to get my bumper want a prerunner style but never found a bolt on i liked, especially those bolt ons by baja bumpers looks like a dinner plate got stuck on the front while driving down the highway IMO. But I completely agree that some can be overkill...oh and about the SA bombing thru the desert you ever see those JeepSpeed guys its all SA cherokees doin exactly that pretty cool (used to have a cherokee myself) now some can be overkill IMO for instance, this looks flockin stupid wide

btw RIP I still love your 4runner man dont take what I said to heart haha your wheels are by far some of my favorite I looked for some bronze ones in that JDM style forever until i gave up...maybe some beadlock TRD ones will come my way in the future for the right price.

Just thought I would throw up a recent pic and troll for a few opinions. As you can see the rear is now higher than the front by about a 1/2. So I am looking to get the front up a little more.:banana: So just some opinions on either 3/8 top plate spacer or 5100 on the second notch.

Pretty sweet stuff! I like your wheels, and your 4runner looks very clean as well! I'm currently piecing together my lift kit. I have LC 7.5 wraps on the way thanks to crumpkd. I'm going to buy some new Tundra TRD front coils, front Bilstein 5100's, and some Tokico Trekmaster shocks for the rear. You ought to start a build thread.

Bump your front up a notch don't put a top plate in if you don't have to

Just thought I would throw up a recent pic and troll for a few opinions. As you can see the rear is now higher than the front by about a 1/2. So I am looking to get the front up a little more.:banana: So just some opinions on either 3/8 top plate spacer or 5100 on the second notch.

That looks real clean. I like the rake as is so i gotta ask what the set up is in this pic. Is this with the TRD tundra coils in back? What did it take to install um.

I noticed an improvement in the ride when i got my 510s. If you can swing the 5100s i'd go that route instead of a spacer.

No, TRD springs up front. I went with 99 tall springs and a 1" aluminum spacer in the rear along with the tundra bilstein/toyota shocks. Rides real nice with this set up
