TRD Update

PM sent. I already know what the changes entail, so we will see if you know everything or not. :P

If you know then why are you PM'ing? Let someone else in on the action/fun :)
By the word "Changes" sounds like there will be several?

It's way waaaay less exciting than that. I'll just say that it brings things in line with some of the other models in terms of OEM components, add another component, and has parity in regards to how Toyota outfits some of their vehicles in their other global market segments.

Retrofitted? Yes. But at a stupid expense for something that's already on the market.

I'm guessing Adaptive Variable Suspension?

That's on Prado vehicles... and there's plenty of suspension options on the market so it would be silly to retrofit. And it fits the whole "trail-ready four-wheelers" narrative that Toyota teased with the photo release.

Just a thought

Good guess or heavier duty suspension for more GVWR.
Possibly wider wheels as well

"It's a factory option that brings it in line with the more international markets."

I will be going to the Chicago Auto Show at some point. I will grab bunch of photos, unless someone else beats me to it.

I'll be there as well opening weekend. It's been my wife and I's valentines tradition to go to Chicago for the show since we started dating 4 years ago. I think next year we are going to attend the first look for charity event.

My guess is that the Pro is going to get a sunroof and turn signals on the mirrors to be the same as what has been offered in Canada. If that's the case, I see no reason to upgrade as my Faux Pro would be the same thing.

Oh, and keyless entry start/stop on all the high trim levels. One of the only unforgivable omissions on the TRDs, imho.

Application of Limited design features across the line?

What I've seen is a more three dimensional approach to packages and options. Wondering if we see Limited move to the X axis with SR5, TRD-OR and TRD-Pro remaining on Y axis?

Sweet.

Then we can listen to people complain how much Apple CarPlay stinks.

That being the same people who complain that there is no current 'Yota with ACP haha...

I'd be perfectly happy to complain about Android Auto,

if given the chance... :cell:

Guys, guys, guys .... All of you having speculation orgasms, are missing a major point; whatever this is, it is a TRD Pro upgrade -- please reread the link in the OP.

Also, please stop pestering the two guys who know something. One is a vendor, and the other an employee, and neither is going to tell you any more.

Besides, it is surely NBD. Relax.

I personally don't care enough about AA to go get an aftermarket HU. If it comes with the OEM head unit, I'd probably use for road trips or something similar. $400 isn't bad at all when it comes to updgrade costs though...
