TREVLOC's Thread

so literally after i posted that last one i went outside and took off the smaller, passenger visor to test it out. came out pretty well. not chipping. but i was out of paint. so i went down to O'Reilly and got more, along with some seafoam. it was 9.99 per bottle, and it was buy 2 get one free. i figured i will use one and a half, and then another friend of mine with a 4runner will use the rest. but when i got home, i realized i did not have enough time for a few reasons. i dont know how to take the clip off. and i am debating if i should remove the mirror? if i can. also i havnt decided if i want to just paint over all the warning labels, or tape them off.... hmmmm decisions.

VHT Niteshade

ok well, i plan on purchasing new tails from jason here soon. so i decided it wouldnt be complete without doing the third brake light as well. my first choice was the one on ebay, smoked led. which is nice. but first i went with VHT niteshade, cause its cheaper at the moment. haha. :bigok:

currently... you cant really tell when i press on the brake. im thinking i might have went too thick.

so i am going to wait until night and see.
if it is still too dim for my liking i might try an LED in there... or go with the ebay option. i just wouldnt know how to install it. hmmmmm.

Tinted

so i got the tint on today. total cost was $199.50 with a lifetime warranty. i got limos in the back and on the visor stripe. with the legal 35% on the fronts. i reallllllly like it. dont even need sunglasses anymore haha. as for the night, i can see perfectly, if not better. i dont have to dim my mirror, the tint dims the headlights from behind. but i can see everything out the back. i like it.

i thank you everyone for your comments. ive been dragging on getting anything done. haha. been busy lately.

as for the stick ons, i like em. i got them off ebay for like $40 when i lived in oregon (at that time, i smoked in my car and wanted to crack the window when raining) but i dont smoke in my 4runner anymore so i dont really use them... but i still like them enough not to remove them hahaha.

Nice job!

Just have a quick question. I am planning to install backup camera too. In your picture - am wondering what that connector attached with the wiring for license plate light is for?

Thanks.

that is what connects to the electronic handle button thing. :)
:thanks:

i plan on it. but from my research it is a PIA to remove... so i might just be taping it off and doing it that way. it all depends. might remove the whole bumper.

currently my goal is touch ups. ive just been repainting everything. fixing the chips, and making things more permanent. thats why ive been so quiet haha.

understandable. I tried to take it off the other day to paint mine and I soon realized its more difficult than it looks. Do you happen to have a link on taking it off? BTW the rig looks good!

Hey Trevloc, I have an idea for you. What do you think about blacking out your wheels?

i have thought about it.... but i dont like the solid black mixed with silver. to me they just end up looking dirty. i am thinking about doing something like keith did. but i would probably just skip the dip and go straight to paint. so now im just waiting til i have a saturday to kill.

this is keiths post.

put a holster in my center console last night. the pics pretty much explain it all. i got the holster at cheaperthandirt for only like $12.
