Trick to installing front ARB Lockers?

Thanks MandA. I had a couple additional people help with feedback, both ZUK at gearinstalls.com and Steve at Sonoran Steel had the same thing to say. The shop spoke to ZUK today and it looks like that thread you posted is exactly what I'm running into. I guess the ARB locker is "universal" for the 7.5 and 8 and unfortunately, in my model, can produce the play that we are experiencing. I should have the rig back tomorrow and, fingers crossed, everything stays together this time.

It's shocking as this seems to be more common place than I would have thought considering ARB's reputation. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks all for your help. You guys rock!

i think this has more to do with the manufacture of the gears than ARB... these all seam to happen with aftermarket gears, not a single one that i can see is with stock/factory gears. -i am running nitro gears and imo they are the best out there in the aftermarket sector. their quality control standards are the highest and they dont cut corners or use inferior products or tricks to help achieve a marketable product.

They installed the Yukon's on mine. I wouldn't have thought that would have been a concern. Yukon is supposed to be pretty comparable to Nitro's, no?

In the future... Here's where I'll go...

I've had AZ differential do my axles before on my Mustang, does hundreds a week, Lockers, everything... Should have done My bronco with them too, but lesson learned, no they aren't cheap nor expensive... But their work is outstanding.

Plan is 4.56 or 4.88's... No front locker for me.

I too ran Nitro gears and haven't had any issues or excessive noise from them. They were dirt cheap at Sierra Expedition. Though Sierra's customer service could be a little better.
