I have tried everything please HELP me
i have a 1988 4 runner with the V6 for the last 2 months the truck will not start all the time it runs for a weeks then the next day nothing
Rolls over with lots of power but no spark
a day or 2 later it starts right up
i have changed the coil ignitor, wires, distributor cap, coil, computer, ignition wire from the key
Also i found that if i leave the truck sit for a week my batterey gets drained down (possible dead short somewhere)
Has anyone had a similar issue?
i have pulled all the wires out of the computer and cleaned all connections as well there was some corrosion (green on the connectors)
Is there are relay somewhere that sends power from the key to the ignition that could be preventing spark?

I had this same issue with another toyota vehicle from the time period, and it was part of the wire harness splitting apart and shorting on itself causing a no start, but when it ran, it had tons of power, so I'd check the casing on the wires starter related, look for cracks/splits. Mine had a 1" split in the middle of the harness from old age
