I'm doing the Mojave Road next week (Nov. 17-19) with the SCORE group but will be arriving in Laughlin at around noon on Nov. 16. Would anyone be interested in exploring the Black Mountains/Secret Pass Trail in Arizona starting around noon? We'll meet at Sunridge Texaco gas station at noon and caravan over to the trailhead which is approximately 8 miles away. This will be a 3-4 hour trip with some hiking in Secret Pass. This is a rugged desert trail through rolling foothills with amazing scenery. Some portions of the trail are narrow, rutted, rocky, and fairly steep but manageable and rock stacking may be necessary in some cases. Four wheel drive, low range, and higher ground clearance are required. Standard factory skid plates and tow hooks are recommended. I've been told the trail rating is 6/10 for difficulty.
