Should I put it in 4w low and lock the center diff or keep it in high and lock the diff?

Put her in drive and you will be absolutely fine. Nothing special usless you head off the beatin track.

If you are down on hatteras, two ramps that you will need low and diff locked are 38 in avon and 55 in Hatteras, bury it to the frame and Jarvis will expect 200.00 to come and pull you out.

Any suggestions on places to camp/drive? I'm driving down from PA the first week of August for the first time.

I would go to the Cape Hatteras website, and see if you can check on campsites.
One at oregon inlet, on in buxton and the other in frisco by the airport, ocracoke also has one try www.nps.gov/caha also seashore number is 252-473-2111
Follow the rules obey posted speed limits, 25 mph on the beach but with the sahpe of the sand and amount of tracks, it will be slow going. Beware of orange sand which is actually shell and washouts orange sand that has water underneath, get in it and there is now way out without a tow.
Also avid bird closures and turtle nest as people are watching, and you will get into deep trouble quick if you drive through a closed area. Common sense and respect rules here use them and you will have a good time, fill up before you come down to hatteras, gas is a quarter a gallon cheaper on the north side of the bridge.

how much did you get those 2006 boards for?

I got them cheap from another user on our board. I think I paid $175 for them. I think they look so much better than the 2005 stock boards.
