Troubleshooting..

Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out what's going on with my truck. '98 4x4, I was playing in the mud, hit a mud hole, and as I was driving home, I noticed my steering wheel wobble as I go 55+mph. I'm not sure if its the alignment, axel, cv joint or none of the above. Thanks for the help!

May be one of the wheel weights came off? Some pictures of the front suspension? A loose ball joint?

First off check to make sure you don't have a big mud cake stuck inside one of your wheels, that will make them wobble like crazy.

After that it could be a thrown wheel weight, bad ball joint, bad tie rod, worn bushing, etc.

Looks like a big chunk of mud on the inside of the rim next to the rotor. Wash your baby and should be like new

^ what he said. also have you tried grabbing the wheel and shaking it back and forth to see if there is any play? and are you hearing any noises coming from up there? i just replaced my outer tie rod in about 15 minutes and i have no more wobble or clunk noise.

You could always jack up the front end so the wheels are off the ground to see if there's play in anything. But like everyone else said probably caked up mud.

Yep, that looks like the problem. A 5lb. mud wheel weight will definitely make it wobble.
