Truck delivered to dealer.. I have an interesting dilemma

So my truck was delivered yesterday ( I have not seen it yet))).

Here is the dilemma, so my salesman is no longer there (may b a good thing for me)

I negotiated a set of grey TRD wheels in the deal for CHEAP, that I will have installed, but my salesman wrote BEADLOCK WHEELS on my deposit sheet.

So knowing there twice the price I am going to try to force the issue & see if I can get them )))

I read many threads last night but didn't find definite answers to my concerns....

Questions:

1) are they the same grey as the regular TRD wheels?.. A few members have sent me pix & I think they look great in grey on an MGM TRUCK

2) how will the different offsets affect wheel fit?

I am not going rock crawling or or climbing Everest with the truck but I want it to go where I point it & get me back home.

I am not planning a lift for now but I am going with the Bilstein shocks F&R with air bags in the rear.

Any concerns, issues & advise is greatly appreciated as time is of the essence...
I want my truck, but I want to get my parts ordered b4 I sign on the dotted line.

The truck is a '16 TEP w KDSS

I would pass on real beadlock wheels if it's not a dedicated trail rig.
Get the ones you wanted first, then negotiate some new AT tires for the price difference.

The TRD forged wheels are 17" Part Number : PTR45-35010

If they are the 17" TRD Faux Beadlocks then they will fit fine and not cause you any issues. [MENTION=55815]Okki[/MENTION] is running them. Search for him and his build.

'10 is any different other than the body from a '16. Also he does not have KDSS.

@E idk if it was a mistake or intentional, maybe he knew he was leaving & wanted to "reward me for his final sale" ...???

For $98 each ima sure try.... Worst thing that can happen is I end up w the other wheels.....

Nope, 17 in and these are forged not cast. In strength to weight ratio there is huge difference. You got good wheels - keep them.

Sure, you might save $98 a wheel because of someone's mistake but I will tell you something - Karma is a ***** and if you take advantage of someone or something it will come back to bite you later on.

We are not "texting" here so enough with the abbreviations.

I like the faux beadlock wheels look better. buuuuuut

Not sure they're functionally different than the TRD Pro wheels (since they are not actual beadlocks) in terms of offset, overall width or wheel weight but I'm sure they're are some minor differences that won't affect fitment or ride quality.

I suppose you have an arguement to try if those are actually the wheels you want.

Remember the faux beadlock wheels are more maintenance intensive (water has a tendancy to get trapped behind the faux trim ring leading to accelerated corrosion, especially in northern climates where road salting is frequent) so removing the trim ring for maintenace cleanings seems like a real PITA to me... in the end, it's a push depending on the look and maintenance you're going for... for me, a fake trim ring is just another thing to break, or bolts to seize or lose or get in the way... more parts = less reliable, more maintanable in my eyes.

As I said above, they will fit no problem. Also KDSS has absolutely nothing to do with wheels nor is it located close to wheels.

yeah, never realized there were 2 different beadlock-style wheels in the TRD lineup. learn something new everyday.

You didn't say what truck you were getting but if you had the black wheels on it, they are just taking the value of those wheels and deducting that from the cost of the new ones. Even the regular ones are pretty expensive so $100 per wheel isn't out of line.

I understand the difference in the manufacturing process and the benefits of forged vs casted.... In his description is sounded like he's not doing anything extreme to warrant a need for the benefits that forged wheel provides though so I assumed the decision for him was about looks since, a cast wheel will function just fine for his likely and 99% of others useage who own a 4Runner.
