truck ran like sh@t just now :(

damn it lost my extension cant even pull the plugs now

fuuuuuuuu. im out in marin or i would swing mine over to you.

sounds like a crappy problem. you are boosted right? im wondering if maybe the wrong temp plugs could have burned out, possibly from only a minor variance in the A/F if you are running full/over boost.

hope you track it down and solve it, since ive had multiple issues with my ignition already i'll be watching this one. seems like this is the pickeist part of these trucks, especially once you bump the psi.

I realize that. No competition here, i just wanted to make sure the OP didnt just think it was just a random occurrence that his truck fouled them. Just looking out for the owner here!

lol I know that shawn, I was just pointing it out to t4r4life ..

changed the plugs tested the coil pack still nothing looks like its fuel injector

Place a piece of tube up to each injector and listen through it. if it is working, you should be able to hear it clicking.

Also, check compression before you go replacing anything.

I don't think it's wires, plugs, coils, or an injector because 3 cylinders were affected simultaneously. Usually, you'll get one dead hole or 2 dead holes if the coil controlling them went bad. But 3 missing holes all at the same time (and unrelated cylinders to boot)... that seems more like an O2 or MAF problem (or worse). However, the weird thing to me is that it ran great and all of a sudden it runs like crap. That makes me wonder if the timing belt jumped a tooth. Or... if the crankshaft pulley wasn't torqued properly to 217 ft lbs. during the last TB change, it could cause the harmonic balancer to wobble and round out the key hole, screwing up the timing. Hopefully it isn't that, but it might be something to check if the other stuff doesn't work.

right now its just misfiring in cyl 2 so its deff not timing, wires are new plugs just changed, coil pack resistant was in range, only thing now is either air leaks(dont hear one) or injector

okay after everything i've done its still missing, po300 po301 po302 everything seems fine but its just missing. im running outta ideas, i cant see fuel injectors go out at the same time, and the check engine light come on flashing when im acceleration fast then goes away when im cruising or idle, its not a constant on. this is getting frustration even my buddy who own the shop dont know whats wrong, we already ruled out plugs, wires, coils, gas and airleaks. only thing now its injectors and fuel filter last time i changed the fuel filter was about 2-3 years ago i thought they suppose to last longer.

Excuse my Kim Kardashian reference, but I also thought marriage was a life time thing. We alllll saw how that turned out.

I think MAF...

I do not think it's the injector(s).

Does the CEL light seem to stay on longer the more you accelerate or drive faster? If so, then I think Brian is on to something. Years ago a YT member had his crank woodruff key screw up when the mechanic didn't torque the crank bolt on tight enough. He was fine at idol, no CEL, but after 55, it stayed on constantly due to the fact that the timing was off and I think the harmonic balancer was problematic as well. Can't really remember.

I'd check each injector with a DVM first, then clean the MAF, and then pull out the compression tester.

i have another MAF in the shop, i will swap it and reset and see if the code comes up again, gonna take it to the shop this week to do a compression test.

it misses at idle, no CEL, up on acc the CEL flashes, if keeps acc it will stay solid. and if what brian said is the case then it looks like i'll have to do the TB job sooner than i hope for.

i want thank you guys for all the suggestions really narrow things down a lot. anybody think its good to just change the fuel filter? it was napa gold instead of the toyota filter which i thought was better

It could be. If the filter has collapsed, or slows down the fuel rate, then it is a possibility.

Case in point: my uncle replaced my aunt's fuel filter in her 2001 Camry years back using a Fram. Car ran rough beginning about 6 months afterwards, to the point he took it to an indy Toyo mechanic, who said that the media inside the Fram was too thick; they put in a OEM Denso and all was good.

For $20+ bucks, it may be a cheap place to start.

yes. oem all the way, especially on parts this cheap. cant hurt, and its about the cheapest thing to start with for elimination. worth throwing a fuel fitetr at it imo.
