Truck wont move! Seemingly neutral in all gears,,

I have same problem i have 2 solinoid codes & a o2 code but if was a solinoid wouldnt at least one gear work like. Rev or wouldnt 4wd work & drive as front wheel drive u wouldnt drive like that but. Shouldnt something work instead of nothing

I’m having the same issue as the OP. So I got the p770 code, and drive it for a few days and cleared it a few times. Then, one day, I went to leave for class and the car wouldn’t move. I could put it in drive and reverse, but it wouldn’t go anywhere. It eventually got to a point that, if I put it in drive, it would sit for like 30seconds and then slowly creep forward, and I could build momentum up to get it to move. Reverse worked a little better than forward, but it wouldn’t still need to sit for a few seconds in gear before it would move. Isearched the forums and decided to replace the solenoids. I completed that 2 days ago. However, now the car doesn’t move at all.
The fluid was very dark and smelled bad, but it’s got 260k miles and I’m pretty sure the PO didn’t ever replace the fluid. I cleaned the pan and everything before I put it back. I didn’t FLUSH all the fluid, I just added the 4qt that came out. There WERE fragments in the oil pan, but they were plastic, not metal. I figured out that the plugs on the solenoids had become so fragile that the plastic part of the plugs broke into like 15 pieces. I took the metal interior of the plug and slipped it onto the solenoid so that it was very tight.

Hey, I have a '99 4runner 4x4 SR5 automatic with 240,000 miles.
I have had no previous problems and I keep up with regular maintenance. Yesterday I was parked on a slight downhill, went to put it in reverse, and it just kept moving forward. I tried it a few times. Same thing. Tried neutral-kept going forward. I just assumed it was in drive, but now thinking back it might have all just been neutral. Either way, I got nothing. Of course I was parked stupid right next to my house, so I had no room to play with it. I put the 4x4 in neutral and pulled it back a little further so it wasn't so close to my house, but I don't want to play around with it too much. The shifter goes easily into all gears. It clicks in each gear, like normal. Park is park, when reved it doesn't move. Fluidevel is good, fluid seems fine. Red and doesn't smell burt. Thoughts? Thanks.

So does your 4 runner move any which direction at all. Or reverse is the only thing out?

No, everything is neutral. I thought I had drive, and I may have the other day, but today I only have park and neutral.

Check the FSM [ Factory Service Manual] and see if your solenoids are working. Verify your Park Neutral switch is functioning properly.

Just towed my 2002 4unner to the shop today. When I was wheeling something pulled a rubber hose out of the bottom of the radiator driver side. Traced it and it goes back to the transmission. Didn't leak to much but when it ripped the hose out it pulled the brass pipe that was part of the connection between the hose and radiator. Not close to home so had to take to shop to reconnect.
The only thing I'm worried about is the fact that when this happened, car stopped dead in the water. Engine running fine with no lights, but when in drive, reverse, or any gear it just revs up like its in neutral with no movement. Would this hose being disconnected cause the issue? Or am I looking at a whole new tranny?

Lack of transmission fluid will cause the transmission to stop moving. That hose is for the transmission to transmission cooler. With that hose disconnected you lost a lot of transmission fluid. It either went all over the place or it got mixed in with the coolant.
If you haven't already you need to replace the radiator if it's old or the fitting came out of the radiator, check your coolant for sludgy residue, and check your transmission fluid level and condition.
If you have sludgy coolant then you'll need to replace the radiator and flush the cooling system a few times.
If the transmission fluid is milky then you can try flushing the old fluid and replacing the filter or just go ahead and kiss that transmission goodbye.

That's the main transmission line to the cooler. Like mentioned above, all your transmission fluid drained out. Just hope that it survives with just new coolant and a new radiator (the barb is not repairable).
Wasn't a huge issue. Just had to get that connection fixed and put in new tranny cooler. Flushed the transmission so its going with all new fluid and its running like new. Thank you for the help guys!

1993 is a 2nd gen 4 runner. This is the 3rd gen 4 runner group. You will need a new clutch pressure plate. And possibly flywheel as your clutch is gone. Sounding like your pressure plate failed.
