Trunk floor cover

Ok, my 4Runner has this little lift floor in the trunk area, that basically when put into position acts like a shelf. I have rarely used it and collects more dirt underneath than anything. I was planning on removing, so could put my big tool box in the back. My worries are if I leave it in, I’m just going to end up breaking it, even when it is flat. Can this floor piece hold some weight when flatten down or will it just end up breaking?

The box I will be using is a Snap on KRA-62. Without tools weighs a little over 150lbs.

That shelf is pretty sturdy, and heavy. I removed it when I replaced the subwoofer. I think it will be just fine with all that weight distributed over the entire area.
Now you may want to remove it so you can use the two bolt holes to tighten the toolbox in place.

I don't think they'll break when flat down. When up on the other hand they are weaker. Mine has supported my body weight while up. At the time that was like 145lbs
Otherwise the only use I've ever found for that table is that it makes a good uno table. you can sit with crossed legs underneath the table.
