I used to drive a 98 Explorer. When i would move from apt to apt, i folded teh seats down and threw my twin sized mattress in the back. it fit perfectly. it was great! has anyone experienced fitting a twin sized mattress into the back of their 4Runner? i drive an '04 and have to go mattress shopping soon, so was just wondering if it will fit. i know i could just get a tape measure and go measure it, but im super bored at work rigth now and my car is all the way outside. any experience or knowledge? i could possible open up the rear window and hang the mattress out, but if i could lay it out inside completely that'd be better. thanks guys.

Buy a waterbed twin sized mattress and wait till you get home to put the water in it. It will fit for sure. :D

last week i had to bring my siste'rs twin mattress back home and it barely fit in the back. her mattress was just the right length and width, any bigger and i would have had to strap it on the top. so fyi to anyone who still needs to carry a twin... it fits :)

Thanks - that saves me some measuring. :p
