Truxxx 1.250" Rear spacer does not fit!

Bought the Truxxx 1.250" rear coil spring spacer part# 905096 which is supposed to fit the 2010 4Runner and the FJ Cruiser. Brought it in to have it installed yesterday and the mechanic there took the truck apart and found out that the spacer does not fit. The bumpstop/ isolator is 1 piece and has no hole in the top to accept the spacer. I'm out $75 for his time. Now tomorrow I have to call Truxx and 4Wheelonline where I bought them to find out what's up.
So beware if you buy these.

Are you sure these spacers don't mount above the bumpstop between the bumpstop and the frame? That is generally how the 4Runner rear spacers mount.

Dave said his mount the same as the Truxxx part, on top of the Bumpstop between the frame and the bumpstop and that the Truxxx should work but I emailed him again with a question and will see what he says.

Are you sure these spacers don't mount above the bumpstop between the bumpstop and the frame? That is generally how the 4Runner rear spacers mount.

Called Truxxx they said it does not fit the 2010 Runner because the top of the bumpstop /isolator is flat with no counterbore to hold the spacer in place but they heard that some people put the stop in a lathe and machine a counterbore in the top to fit the spacer into.
Has anyone heard of this or done this? How are people installing their rear spacers?

i was looking at the truxxx lift as I like the idea of a spacer lift that doesn't pre load the spring. The truxxx spacer lifts got pretty good reviews on the tundra forums and most guys over there preferred them to the toytec spacers that preload your coils...

Wound up using A Daystar 1.5" spacer (Actual size is 1.575") and being a machinist I machined it down to 1.125" after calling Daystar and talking to one of the engineers there to assure me I could do this without jeopardizing the safety or integrity of the spacer. He gave me the OK! Worked Perfectly.
Now with the Bilsteins set at 1.750" in front (Rear Bilsteins on order) and the 1.125" spacer in rear I have about a 1/2 to 3/4" rake (Higher in rear). Now Rocker panels are level!
As far as the Truxxx spacer the engineer at Truxxx tells me they won't fit but no word of changes on their part. I returned them. Maybe a FJ bumpstop will work with the Truxxx spacer.

No, because I wanted the better handling that the Bilsteins gives and I also wanted to diminish the front braking nose dive that occurs in a panic stop which the Bilsteins do!

hmmmmm.... my understanding was that that the truxxx spacers mount OUTSIDE of the coilover assembly and therefore they dont increase spring pre load and should maintain stock handling..? unlike most spacer lifts which go inside the coilover and increase spring pre-load.... one of the main reasons the Tundra guys love truxxx over toytec or similar...

Not as far as I know. I emailed truxxx twice and haven't gotten so much as an auto reply email back......

have you tried emailing them?

maybe if they see there is more demand they will come out with a fix....

Daystar 4Runner lift info

Hi Everyone,

I've researched the issue with the rear bumpstop fittment on '10-'16 4Runners. According to Toyota, there is only one part number for the 4Runner rear coil spring isolator / bumpstop.

Having said that, I've found that there are 2 different dimension bumpstops in use that will determine if your rear coil spring spacer will fit or not.

Most 4Runners have an isolator with a 4.6" maximum diameter top ring (not the topmost isolator part).

We have recently found some with a 5.0" maximum diameter top ring.

The 4.6" diameter ring will use Daystar kit KT09135BK (rear only) - KT09134BK (front and rear) - KT09133BK (front only).

The 5.0" diameter ring will use Daystar kit KT09100BK (rear only) - KT09133BK (front only) - no f & r combo kit available.
