Trying to convince a friend...

I am trying to convince a buddy that this is a good deal. We went and looked at it this afternoon, and it drove pretty smooth. Looked through everything the ad says, and it looks legit. If I didn't already have one, I would buy it. He says the high miles scare him, but I say its not a big deal with all the history records and only being a 2 owner. I tried to convince him its a good deal, but hes scared. Anyone else agree with me? I'd pay $4000 for it...needs a new rear bumper (dent), and inside cleaned really well. Any thoughts?

just going off the CL text w/o any pics, sounds decent. dude sounds legit and sounds like he knows the truck. probably did the work himself with OEM parts if he works for a toyota dealer. Ask him why he is selling it. what about timing belt and WP etc...? get some more details if you can or the VIN and research it through the toyota owners website. maybe this will help your friend make a decision.

TB was just changed, but he didn't change the water pump because it wasn't leaking. It was last changed at 85k. He said he was selling to buy a truck...he hunts and doesn't want to bloody up the 4Runner! If i could figure out how to load a pic I would, but can't figure it out!!!! He offered to show us the history, but my buddy just took his word. I guess he just doesn't realize how reliable these are.

It's a 3rd gen, miles on these don't matter unless it hasn't been taken care of. I say it's a really good deal!:fishing:
