trying to determine selling price

I have a question for all of you out there. I am in need of help in determining what a fair price to ask for my 1999 4Runner. The body is a good/great condition, new suspension, new brakes, new water pump. The interior is in fair condition for a 15 year old truck. The tires are bad. The kicker is that the engine will need some work. It has a 185K on it and has been running strong, but the lock key on the crank shaft cracked off so it can no longer spin any of the belts. My mechanic said he could put a used engine installed for around 2K, but I am thinking it is time to part with it and move to a Tacoma or Tundra. So I was thinking it would be in the range of 5K if all were working, but at a loss as to what to ask for it now. Any help on its worth from anyone would be greatly appreciated. I figure there is a mechanic or someone who knows how to work on these out there that will give me more than a $100 like the junkyard offered. thanks in advance

Start by looking they our 4sale section and see what other people are asking for their 3rd gens, especially ones that are close to yours as far as year, mileage, location, etc. Then maybe deduct for your engine, etc.
that should get you in the ballpark.
