Jeeps do it all the time. I've never been hassled, but check with your local authorities.

It's probably different from state to state, but here in Utah the manual says you can't drive on the roads without doors unless the vehicle was designed to be driven without doors. It's really hit or miss though, because there's nothing to define whether halfdoors or tube doors count as "doors".
