Tundra 17" split 5 spokes or 16" LC 80 series wheels?

There's a set of 17" wheels just like those for $475 on CL in my area right now.

I really like the LC80's because it gives a more retro look. Just my opinion on that.
I put some work into refinishing my set and I could never get tired of how it looks now.

Though I think the Tundra wheels do come in 2nd after the LC80's. :]

I generally like the Tundra's for their modern looks and functionality, but damn those look King BA.

J.B., the LC's look great on your 4runner and the silver is refreshing to see. Otherwise I'd look at PitbullRescuer's 99 build to see the black LC's on a highlander.

For pricing, I've sold a set for $300, but it took a while. Otherwise $250-300 for the bay.

Good choice on the 80's I was thinking about selling them for 17" rims to clear the tundra brake upgrade. Did you have to do anything to the calipers to clear? What calipers did you buy? Also to I'm thinking about changing the color on the rims too but not sure what other color would look good.

How the f*ck did you clear the 231's without a spacer? I have LC80's and 231's. Haven't installed the 231's yet only because everyone I know with this combo either grinded or used spacers.

when I bought the truck a few months ago it already had the 231mm tundra brakes. I've looked at the calipers and they have the 13WL in the casting. It doesn't appear anything was done to them.

I test fit one of the wheels before I had tires mounted. They cleared, but barely. There is no rubbing. No spacers. Nothing done except put the wheels on.

I will take some close up photos tomorrow and maybe try to get an actual measurement of the clearance between the caliper and the back of the wheel face.

sorry these aren't the best pics....

Anyway, clearance is about the width of a business card. It slides through, but touches of course.

I haven't had any clearance issues yet and they definitely haven't ever contacted.
