Tundra Brake Modification Question

Hi I am considering the Tundra brake mod and was wondering if I would need to modify the actual wheel if I went with the larger 231mm rotor. I know I would have to trim the metal guard plate near the brake caliper, but would like to avoid actually grinding the inside of the wheel if possible. Attached is the style of wheel on my car. It is a 2002 sport edition 4X4. The wheels are 16". Thanks for the help!

those are fine, it will clear no problem. If you want to know for sure. Take a wheel off and and look on the inside, you will see where toyota clearanced them from the factory.

Keep in mind that the spare wheel will not clear over the Tundra brakes, but that does not mean it's rendered useless. If you have a flat on one of the fronts, put the spare in place of one of the back wheels, and transfer that rear wheel to the front.

Thanks everyone for the replies. Also, thanks for the link as well as the spare tire tip. Now I just need to decide if it is worth it to do this, or just upgrade to a higher quality 4runner rotor and brake pad...
