I know this has been covered a million times but I need some help! About to pull the trigger on some TRD springs to lift my runner. I know everyone says to go with the 4wd TRD springs with the yellow/yellow and blue/yellow color code, but was wondering about 2wd TRD coils. May be able to get these springs for $200 and was wondering what type of lift to expect. Any ideas?

I would it I could! It seems to be easier to find someone handing out stacks of $100 bills than to find someone with 4wd TRD coils! lol May just end up ordering new ones. For some reason I really want to do TRD Tundra coils up front with the Tundra brake swap with LC coils in the back to stay all factory. Going to call it my TundraRunner Cruiser! :trophy:

Make sure that you get the color code (paint dots on the coils), Tundra TRD Coils. Left, 48131-AF100 (Yellow/Yellow). Right, 48131-AF090 (Blue/Yellow)
The TRD coils fit:
4wd, access cab, w/off road pkg. 2000 - 2002
2wd Access cab 2003 - 2004
4wd Access cab Left 2003 - 2004

2X on what Gerdo is saying.......E-bay is a good source to find some used ones.......usually from Salvaged Tundras....that's where I got mine, and only searched for a day......

Well I just bought some y/y y/b today for $110 shipped with the bilsteins. Check out Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market and search for either the strut assembly (a lot more options and cheap) or the coil/spring. There are many options throughout the US and you can find them cheap. Just make sure you call the people and confirm they are y/y y/b.
Mine are coming from Wyoming and I spent two days talking to the people about the coils and what to look for. The girl I first talked to said they were y/b, which I quickly realized she was talking about the shocks. Then the next guy said the dots were grey/grey, which I found out he was talking about the leafs in the back. Finally I walked them through it and ta-da I have tundra coils for $110. It's worth it and you may find a deal better than me.

Yeah I was surprised and stoked. They were 40 a piece and shipping. Just call around and let them know exactly what you want. Those midwest states are pretty cheap. You should be able to find some. Good luck.

Most likely a Double Cab. I have read that they might be too stiff because they are made to accomodate the extra weight of the double cabs.

What do you mean they didnt do anything? Are you saying they didnt give you much of a lift?
They didn't give me any lift, they actually lowered my truck 1/2"

they are out there. I got semi-lucky and was persistent in my search and found some locally for $75. Exactly what i was looking for (Y/Y Y/B) color code. I added the 3/8" top-out spacer from toytec and netted about 2" of lift. With the diff-drop, my cv's still look the same and I would like to go up another 2" of lift. (that is in the future though, nothing soon)
Also to warn you ahead of time, If you are going with Tundra coils, they are a tad stiff. It might be because my shocks are in need of upgrading (i have the stock yellow bilsteins on as of now) None-the-less it's cost effective and functional. Depending on your rim choice you might run into rubbing issues with 33" tires as I did. Trimmed a bunch and still rubbing.

I'm still looking for '99 tall fronts. These were included in a package purchase of mine and I was interested in their compatibility. Doesn't seem like there's too much information on them out there.
