tundra coils/bilstein 5100 adjustables up front- its time to change.

so, i put my new tires on, spacers, and now, a little bit of rubbing occurs. just wondering who has adjusted their ride height on the Bilstein Adjustable coil-overs using the Tundra TRD coils that come with the Sonoran Steel 1.2 lift kit. im going hope today and ripping out the coils and raising it on up a couple notches, at least.

anyone have any experience or input on this? just trying to see how high i should go up. and also was wondering how the spring rate will be affected.

What setting are you on now? With your winch and bumper I would definitely go with the middle setting and possibly the 4th. BFAD has his on the 3rd with his bumper and winch and likes the ride and height. I think that would be your best bet.

Any chance your TRD Coil's might be shot to begin with? What notch are you on with the 5100s? do you have a printout of your alignment? Can you take pictures of the stance and how far the tires stick out, what tires to you have now? Did you rub without spacers? Where do you rub?

Sorry if you feel bombarded by all these at once but I can't Help until all the info is out there. I have TRD + 5100's and 285's too but need to hear more from you first before i can help.

EDIT: just found out that you run a winch and winch bumper. You look to be really low to start with for TRD's and 5100's. You could easily bump to the center notch if you ask me. and If you are already there just go one up. Most will say the center notch is as far as anyone should go but with the bumper another notch would be the equivalent of a notch down with out the bumper if that makes sense.

How could they wear out in 3 years? They were brand new when purchased

Thats something I didn't know. The ad for the SS1.2 doesn't specify whether they come new or they come from junkyards. How was I to know?

I have SS 1.2 set in middle with 285s on 16x8 4.5bs and I rub on frame and on the pinch weld.
You are going to have to pound the pinch weld flat.

I did pound it flat. i am getting recessed allen head bolts to replace the hex/phillips bolts that currently secure my fender flares. I think that will help a bit too.

also, there are 4 marks on the bilsteins for adjustment. I set mine on the 3rd notch, which is next to the top notch. the adjustment is perfect.
