Yes you want the TRD coils. Just make sure they have the y/y y/b markings on them. They came from an access cab TRD. If you check car-parts.com you can find them cheaper. I got some for 155 (the people screwed me over with the price should have been 115).

Yup you want the TRDs. I got the springs and the shocks for $100.00, uber cheap and they were in excellent condition.

I have read to stay with OME front and back.

or if you go TRD coils up front you can do LC coils in the back. but I think the LC coils will take me higher than I want to go.

eventually will be having weight (bumpers Front and back) and really only want 2-maybe 3in of lift.

For a great set-up get Tundra 5100 bilsteins with the Tundra coils up front. Set them to the second setting from the bottom. Then put OME 890 coils in the back. You will get about 2.5 inch in the front and 3 inch in the back no spacer. The guy with the Tundra factory bilsteins will get around 1.5 inches because his are not adjustable.

What would be the difference between the TRD and regular tundra coils? Would the regular coils give less lift? Im looking for right around 1 1/2" up front.

From all I've read the regular Tundra coils will not fit our 4Runners, but the TRD Tundra coils will.

However, if you choose to use the stock shocks (unadjustable) that came on the TRD Tundras it will lift you around 1.5" over your stock 4Runner setup.

If you buy the Blistein 5100 adjustable Tunda shocks (from like Toyteclifts.com) and adjust them to a specific setting you should be able to get 2.5" of lift over your stock 4Runner setup.

Thanks. Ya that helps. I like the idea of the tundra coils because they are progressive rate. I dont know if ome springs are? One other question . . . would I be able to mount the TRD tundra springs right onto my KYB shocks? They replaced my original shocks, but I think they are a little longer. But what im wondering is if they will fit on the bottom seat that's welded to the shock. It they will fit there, then I think the shocks are plenty long to extend another 1 1/2".

I believe it's possible to use your 4runner shocks, but (again) from others experience the ride isn't very good, and to get everything out of the tundra coils you would need to pair them with tundra shocks. My plan is to buy the adjustable 5100 blisteins from Toytec fire the tundra as these have had the most good feedback that I've read.

I will bump this thread instead of creating a new one. Has anyone put on just the TRD Tundra struts without a spacer? This means not using Bilstein 5100's either. I'm looking for ~2-2.25" up front and I have the Tundra struts already. I'm not sure if I should pick up some 1/4" spacers (Front Top Plate Spacer (One - 1/4") - Toytec Lifts: Toyota Lift Kits: FJ Cruiser Lift Kits, Tacoma Lift Kits, Tundra Lift Kits, 4 Runner Lift Kits, Sequoia Lift Kits, Toyota Truck Lift Kits) as well or some 3/8" spacers (Front Top Plate Spacer Kit - Toytec Lifts: Toyota Lift Kits: FJ Cruiser Lift Kits, Tacoma Lift Kits, Tundra Lift Kits, 4 Runner Lift Kits, Sequoia Lift Kits, Toyota Truck Lift Kits). I have heard people say the Tundras give you 1.5" and also heard 2", so I'm kind of confused. I really only want to put the shocks in once. I'm going to put Downey coils in the back and not sure exactly what lift I will get from them. Some say 2.5-2.75" and I'm hoping for about a .5" rake.
