Turn off alarm after reconnecting battery

Anyone can help with how to turn off the alarm when reconnecting the battery? Don't have access to a manual. Have a 95 4runner, 3L 2.8D Manual transmission running diesel.

last winter when I changed the battery in my 94 Hilux, same freakin' thing happened. -5 degrees in the parking lot, alarm hollering for half an hour. neighbors probably thought I was stealing my own damn truck...
