Turn Signal Burning

Hey all,

Over the weekend I found my passenger front turn signal was out, so I replaced the bulb, and it went out again. When inspecting the "burnt out" bulb, the connector was burnt but the filament seemed to be intact. Could this be a fuse issue or other bug?

04 4Runner V6 SR5. In doing some research folks have reported this being fixed with a replacement of the bulb socket, but I was curious if anyone has also found it to be a fuse or wiring issue of some sort.

I've had the drl sockets burn out like that, went to the dealer and he said its common enough that they stock the sockets... It was a couple dollars for the new sockets...

Are you using dielectric grease? That helps dissipate the heat from your bulbs to the wires.. at least in theory...

*shaking my head*... Someone told me to "Push the bulb in harder, because usually people don't seat them all the way in"... Well, I did this, and sure enough with a good solid push... *Click!*.. The bulb goes deeper in to the socket and is working constantly now. Will monitor this for problems later.
