Aloha guys, I wanted to make a thread to document my experience and post a few photos for everyone's enjoyment. A little background; I live in Hawaii and TRD Pro models are tough to come by. I've lusted after an Inferno T4R from the moment I saw a photo and after a nation-wide Craigslist search I found a very clean example.
The truck has approximately 16k miles on it, and the previous owner seems to be a like minded individual in that it appears he's done a few tasteful upgrades and taken excellent care of the vehicle. As of now it's equipped with a clear bra on the front end, Weathertech mats front and rear, a Canvasback rear cargo cover, front tint, and came from the dealer with rigid running boards. The only wrinkle is that it's located on South Carolina.
No problem, the Wright brothers didn't go through all that trouble for nothing did they?
The plan is to fly in and pick up the truck, and take 2 weeks to drive back across the US. Ultimately we'll end up in Seattle before placing the T4R on a shipping vessel and flying back home. BBQ joints, National Parks, seeing family, and hopefully a bit of adventure are all on the docket. I'll document the trip here as much as possible.
Of course, because I'm eager, I've already ordered an HID kit with Phillips 4300K bulbs for the lows, and LED high/DRL bulbs from XenonDepot. These will be delivered to the seller's house before I arrive along with the 1" step drill bit, an LED interior bulb kit from Yitamotor, and some plastic interior panel tools. I'll install them before we set off on the journey. Once back to Hawaii I'll probably go with Toytec 1" spring perch replacements to level out the front, and perhaps 275 K02s, depending on how I like the Nittos.
Any comments of suggestions from you guys would be great! Headed over there in about a week and a half. Glad to be part of the community!
