Hey man, your build is going to be fantastic once all put together, definitely sub'd to watch her come together. I'm super stoked that you are doing black katzkin with red stitching. This is my next mod for sure but have been hesitant since I couldn't find any pictures of the combo in a 5th gen. Please post many pics once installed so we can see how close katzkin matches with the existing door cards. Keep up the good work!

I'm a little nervous that it won't match well but we will see. The only issue I could think of is if the texture is just too different to match the door trim.

On a separate note I'm sort of second guessing whether I should have ordered their seat heaters. The factory ones are too pricey for me but the katzkin ones were not too bad. Might be nice on really cold mornings and I know my wife would like them. Any opinions on best aftermarket kits appreciated.

No. I'll get a local katzkins dealer to install them. The same folks that put then in my 06 I traded.

On the bumper I went back and cancelled the order as im still torn between t and the shrockworks. They were really cool about it and very understanding of the indecision.

No time wasted, as I figured out my suspension needs/wants and ordered a Radflo 2.5 setup without the reservoir. Not in the desert so I decided I didn't really need the extra reservoir which cut a few bucks off the list....

Could some one pls tell me what this means. I'm in phoenix and was thinking of getting the icon suspension but hadn't decided. Whats this about needing reservoirs if you are in the desert ? It's my daily driver and my hide will be had if I mess it up ! lol ! Thank you in advance

Desert being: Baja California, Las Vegas to Reno in the dirt, Barstow. You don't need reservoirs to run Lake Pleasant to Crown King.

Extended very high sped travel in the desert would benefit from reservoirs, not normal trail riding. Like at the FJ Summit in Ouray.

I just meant I wouldn't be doing extended high speed desert driving. The extra reservoir helps the shock maintain self control longer in high stress situations like repetitive movement like in a desert or washboard environment. It also helps with heat dissipate due to increased oil volume and surface area. Since I live on the east coast and daily drive and do mild trails it seemed like fluff for me to pay $400 more for the ext reservoir.

Not sure if you are dead set on icon but if not I suggest giving Steve a call and considering one of his kits like the Radflo. You may still choose the icon kit but Steve has been a great help to me answering my numerous questions and I try to support him with my purchases to say thanks.

Okay, I thought about the bumper again all night and after looking at all the options once more and everyone's pictures that have gotten one installed I emailed them back and asked to reinstate my SSS bumper order. I think it will be the best option at the end of the day.

Picked up another set of Rigid D2s to use on the truck. Already have a set of D2s in driving light pattern standing by and today picked up a second set in the wide pattern. I'm hoping to mount all 4 across the front.

Also took those cheapie, no name tires back to discount tire. Was on way to Miami and the truck pulled hard right and vibrated so bad my teeth were chattering. Got the alignment checked which was okay so it turned out to be all tires at issue. Long story short I now have a set of nice Michelin LTX m/s2 road tires on one set of wheels for long business miles and my Cooper st maxx tires on the FN wheels for everything else. Slight hassle but will just swap them out before a long trip like round trip to Miami (700 miles).

Sorry to hear that the 3rd gen is gone. It was an amazing build. It seemed like you put a lot of time and love into it. I can't wait to see what you do with this 5th gen. Sub'd.

That's actually a really good idea since this is going to be your business vehicle as well.

With an air impact gun and a nice floor jack it will only take a few minutes of work to swap them out. Bigger issue is just storage since I already have a pretty packed garage space but I'll come up with a spot for them.

Moved the scanguage over to the new runner. May eventually mount elsewhere.

Received the Maxpider 3D liners. Oddly enough they sent me a 3rd row mat even though I didn't request it and it looks like the cargo mat is the wrong model. Will have to call them.

Hard to tell but the color and texture match pretty well with the top of the dash

I originally wanted a silver TEP but the color has certainly grown on me too.
