Damn dude that sucks, I'll be on the lookout for an Anthracite door for you.

Thanks man, I appreciate that.
I don't think it's worth replacing though, it's hardly anything at all-

Ah man, that's nothing, you clearly weren't going fast enough.

Paintless dent removal on the door shouldn't be too expensive, may be something to look into.

Haha yeah, I didn't even slide into the tree till I backed outta their yard. As soon as my front tires hit the sidewalk, into the tree I went. Definitely was going at a rate of speed the opposite of fast!
Oh good call! I didn't even think of PDR. Probably won't even do anything with it TBH. I don't think it'll bother me [emoji1360]

Well, that could have been a lot worse. I am super glad that your sweet 4runner lived another day man. That door doesn't look bad at all. I can't really see any damage from the pic. Ha! I still walk around mine and wonder how in the hell I missed this and that ding when I was buying mine. And some of my rig's dents, I am like, how.. in the hell.. did you dent this, and not screw anything else up? And yeah.. might be time to look into some sliders. They may save you from just such an occasion again. A pair of nice Stubbs HD-SKO's would look very nice and are FAR cheaper than modest body work. Just saying.

Really?! Damn, well thanks a lot man, that's really cool. I really appreciate that ☺

Thanks man!
Front-
Tundra 5100 on the 3rd(of 5) notch with '99 tall coils.
No need for the Tundra isolator if you're using 4R coils. You only need the Tundra isolators if you use Tundra coils(Like the Yellow/Yellow & Yellow/Blue 00-06 Tundra TRD coils).
You need to use the 4R top plate, isolators, and bushings. I would recommend new isolators and bushings while you have it apart. OEM on those should be reasonable.
Rear-
I have ToyTec Superflex coils, which give 3.75" of lift with stock weight. They flex really well, and ride really well. They sit a little high- without weight- for me, and I would like to see how their 3" coils sits. I still want the back a little higher than the front, but the 3.75" is just a hair high. With a rear plate bumper, spare tire, fuel/water, gear, and people in the back seat- I've heard the Superflex isn't the best spring for that. Since I'm not really into two week long wilderness camping, I'm not concerned about capacity to carry a RTT and a bunch of gear. It's just a rig I want to be fun to drive/handle well, and be able to take off-road and have fun on the trails anytime too. I have the "extended" shocks ToyTec recommends for the Superflex springs, and they're too long for me. The Tundra 5100 is an inch shorter, and definitely a better choice. I lost probably two inches of up-travel with these long ass shocks [emoji1361]
I do have OEM TRD Tundra rear 4600's that I plan on trying next, but haven't yet- so I can't help with the lower bushing swap.

awesome man yea i got tundra billy 5100 front and rear and gonna run 99 tall springs i hope the rear will be good enough

REALLY appreciate [MENTION=135317]rkntoy[/MENTION] inviting me out to Bend for this awesome snow run! It was such an awesome spot, and the trail he took me back out to town on was a blast too.

Just some lame pics from my phone. Might have a few good ones on the camera.
His 4Runner is really nice too. Man, it has to be the best sounding 3RZ exhaust I've ever heard [emoji1360]

Way fun! We shall wheel together again...

I used an EZ Deflator for the first time when I went on the Christmas tree run with the PDX Overlanders crew. It was so badass. I had to get one. My FIL got me an EZ Deflator for Christmas [emoji322]
I used it the first ice we got after Christmas, and it seemed like the core remover didn't engage super well, but it worked. Shot it out last week to show my wife how it works, and I found out why it didn't seem to engage right-

The center hole and slot were not machined on center, and when I used it, it bent the smaller "tooth" out.
I let ARB warranty dept know about it, and they sent a replacement out- no questions asked! ARB USA was great to work with. Hopefully the new one is made correctly.

Dang man, how did I miss this run? I see [MENTION=124732]LawnDart[/MENTION] was there as well. Can't miss his rig. 4wheel parts off of 82nd is having a 2nd new grand opening event this Saturday, free food, giveaways etc. Try and make it out there. A $500 giveaway and deeply discounted smittybuilt winches. If you can't make it, perhaps I'll see you at the Friday night get togethers. Mike

[MENTION=124732]LawnDart[/MENTION] was there!
It was an awesome time [MENTION=116467]Rock_Rat[/MENTION] would have been cool to have you out there too! I'd love to do it again- it's such a sweet area out there.
And yeah- I'm with [MENTION=124101]Chim[/MENTION] - what are these "Friday night get togethers" you speak of??
Thanks for lettin me know about the new grand opening at 4WP- I'll try to make it out there for sure.

I wasn't going to be down in Bend but my dad is moving into his new wood shop and needed some extra hands/muscle to move gear from the garage to his new workshop. So I came down.

Last minute I decided to go on this run. Wish I could have stayed longer but I had to cut out and get home to help.

Currently in the miserable process of trying to get the rear shocks off [emoji24]
"Yeah, those top nuts are a PITA" you say?
No; those are easy.
The lower sleeves in the 5100's fit so tight to the lower shock mount, I can't even get it off.
I'm over 7hrs into trying to get it off, and am out of ideas. The passenger side came off with a few blows to the lower eye, but the driver side won't budge. They've only been on for maybe two months too! Tried separating it with a screwdriver, many blows from a hammer, ratchet strap to the frame, soaked in PB Blaster all night... it's a basically-new shock that I don't want to damage, so that doesn't help. I also don't want to use a puller that could- potentially- mess up my center bolt threads.
Any insight on getting this off would be wonderful. All I want is my up-travel back, and I really don't want to have wasted the last 12hrs just to put the 5100's back on.

I'll quote you anyway!

That's a tough question. I'd probably thread a bolt in quite a ways to engage on a lot of thread, then use a puller.

Well that or use a propane torch to melt out the bushing (cheap to replace) and then go from there, but I don't know about using a torch that close to a shock. I guess you could drill the bushing out...

Good luck!

Haha thanks [MENTION=84643]JBurt[/MENTION] [emoji23]
Man, I put a small socket in there for the puller to seat on without damaging the threads, and- like I was afraid of- it just pulls the eye off the bushing.
937ec51c66f3fa5d07e7330fddbfb39a.jpg

Even with all that pressure, AND pounding a flat-head at the joint to separate the sleeve from the lower shock stud- IT STILL WONT BUDGE! I may resort to pulling the eye off the bushing, and cutting the bushing and sleeve off the lower mount. Just shouldn't have to do that on a shock that's only been on 2 months.
For everyone reading this- DO NOT force your lower 5100 sleeves onto your lower mounts. I would sand the mounts nice and smooth with some 200+ grit, and then apply anti-seize. Snug fit is good, but I remember pounding these on, and I fully regret that decision.

Omgggggg [emoji58][emoji58][emoji58]
I thought these shocks just might be the death of me.
Pretty sure that was the most difficult thing I've ever done in my whole life [emoji23]
After 8+hrs, I FINALLY got the damn driver side 5100 off. The TRD Tundra 4600's went on great- that is, until trying to tighten the top nut. Fvck me. Heard that you can clamp the piston with aluminum without damaging it, but I didn't have any AL. Beer cans are AL, yeah? Okay, let's try that. Nope; wouldn't grip it.
Hm, rubber? Okay, let's cut up a front coil isolater, and use that with channel locks to grip it. FINALLY got them tight with that method [emoji1374][emoji322][emoji1373] No damage to the piston either, thank God.

Also, I thought I had it in the bag, and was taking pics of pressing out the Tundra bushings-

Uh, yeah- that won't work. Just stripped the all-thread and nuts.
Had to take it to a local machine shop and have em pressed out.

These fvckers better be so perfect! Haha
