What are signs my upper ball joints need replaced? In other vehicles I've owned there was popping sounds from the front and/or tire wear/alignment issues that indicated bad ball joints. Do these apply to the T4R?

you have to jack it up and check for play in the joints.

If you got high mileage its most likely needing for replacement. But like stated you can lift the tires off ground and move the tire around and look for play in the UBJ. If there is grease coming out than it should be replaced. I tried to get alignment and it would not align because my upper right ball joint is so bad. Im actually going to be replacing it Sat. Just have a ball joint manual press, never fun pressing it back in. Not looking forward to it.

I wouldn't assume it needs replacing just because of high miles; the UBJ's really don't see that much force. Check for play, and if it's bad, then change them.

Thanks for all the replies. I jacked it up and grabbed the tire at 12 and 6 o'clock, zero movement. There is no abnormal tire wear so I guess all is good with my UBJ's. A little background; Lower ball joints were going bad and were replaced about 30k miles ago. I did the tie rod ends at the same time.
