ugh problems...

so today was the big day time to install a new b & m tranny cooler so i go to remove the transmission drasin plug and the idiot who owned the car before me or whoever flushed the tranny before over torqued the drain plug! and i am brok untill payday maby 5 bucks to my name....what are my options here? the only thing i can think of is to drop the pan but id need a new gasket and who knows how much that will cost? ugh any ideas guys?

Sounds like my typical kind of day. I have learned to wait till pay day. Almost always if I try to take a short cut, something else happens that costs more money. I would think the tranny will be fine till you get paid.

yeah i know ive pretty much comne to the conclusion that i am going to have to drop the pan and the gasket is 8 bux....but oh well on the positive it is better to drop the pan though...that way i can get a nice inspection in...

Too bad you cant go ahead and change the filter while that far in. It probably needs it.

Don't feel bad, I'm saving up to do the lower ball joints this month and probably the outer tie rod ends.

You don't need to change the filter. Finger tight for the bolt, then 1/8 to 1/4 more. A new washer is good.

A credit card is always helpful in these situations.

arg that blows ive been battling the irs for 4 months to get my tax refund to get a 3 inch toytec ult lift, and am saveing op for some new tires....i prob need the tires more but yeah....its easier to save up for something you need instead of something you want....i still got a good few months work of tread before anything dangerious...

k,will do,i said f^*k it and whent ahead and am installing the cooler, next week ill just flush it all....

i wouldnt trust myself with a credit cad.....lol

Is your only issue getting the drain plug off? I've seen people weld a metal piece onto bolt heads to aid in removal. Sort of like this video...

its not exactly broken its just stripped in place it wont come out but it wont go in....

What about just hammering on a socket that is a size smaller and using that to remove the drain plug? Could help you out in a pinch...

i dont know how it could work, the only way possible i can see is to drop the pan completly and try and get it off the resivior.look at it this way the drain plug is in there looks like it is intact and is but it spins.....as the threads right at that point are striped in place...
