Ultimate Mall Crawler Build

You know - I don't have a need or a preference for many of the upgrades but absolutely awesome vehicle!
Way to do you!!

Looks like your prepared for anything.

Did RCI redesign the gas skids?
Never seen that style with the front supported.
Not on the website...

With the air-bumps maybe helps, that pinch weld can cut your tires up good.
Is there new theory to cut instead of for bending it over?
Seems like most just fold it over... go's way up behind the liners.

Also just a observation... tap that ladder on a tree and boom, no more back side window.

Looks great, wish i had a supercharger!

Also added king bumpstops. Had to get custom mounts as they didn't exist for front. Tested the hell out of them and it's day and night difference in performance. No more fears of hitting washboard bumps at any speed. Even dented my steel skid plate hitting some bumps offroad but didn't feel any hard impact due to kings.

could you re upload the front bump pics?? I'm running king bumps in the rear with the Total Chaos weld on mounts, was simple enough to install.

for the front you just removed the OEM mount from the frame, weld new cans on and install bumps so they bump off the same spot on the LCA right? would love to see those installed.

Yeah... I initially folded it over but it wasn't enough. Was still rubbing. I cut the hell out of it and then hammered it. Haven't had any rubbing issues and cant imagine doing more flex then I have done since I cut it.

1 billion percent agreed. I am expecting it to happen eventually and will replace the glass with steel or something similar...

Took the ladder off this weekend to work on the bumper and it is already showing signs of stress on the glass...

Let me know if these help out?

So did some more work on the 4runner. Not much pics but just wanted to log my progress...

1. Installed arb axle breather kit under hood.

2. Installed Icom 2730 radio and antenna.

Installed 4.56 gears and ARB air locker in the front. Removed ATrac switch and put in front locker switch (a trac is useless).

Installed beadlocks (real) as I kept popping beads while mall crawling.

Put on cooper st max 34’s.

- learned that BFG KO2 suck for off-roading... they don’t grip on rock and sidewalks are weak as hell. Got rid of them after 7000 miles.

I’ve had cooper stt’s years ago and loved them in 35s. Will text them out again and report but they look more impressive than KO2s.

Plan is to go to much larger tires in 4-5 months... so coopers are temporary.

Oh.... and removed the rear KDSS drop kit. It got in the way of rock crawling....

Got rid of rotopax and install 5 gallons. Found rotopax to be a useless idea. 2 gallons takes space of a 5 gallon....

What was the engine coolant temp getting up to along with the transmission temp before you put in the fan and new radiator?

Added a tranny cooler with a fan. Tired of overheating the tranny...

Wired it to turn on at 185.

Also changed out tranny fluid. This is what it looked like after 13,000 miles...
