[Help] Ultra Gauntlet - Too many choice?

Hi,

I am looking to buy 17x9 Ultra Gauntlet wheels for my 2012 4Runner. I was hopping to buy them from TireRack, but they don't accept to get pay by a Canadian PayPal account.

Not sure if I should trust or not, but there is 3 sizes available and I don't know witch one to take...

Bolt Pattern: 6 x 5.5"
Back Space: 5.47"
Offset: +12mm
Bore: 106.1mm

Bolt Pattern: 6 x 5.5"
Back Space: 5.98"
Offset: +25mm
Bore: 106.1mm

Bolt Pattern: 6 x 5.5"
Back Space: 4 1/2"
Offset: -12mm
Bore: 106.1mm

I am a new with wheels specs, any help would be appreciate. Also, I will run the stock tires on them for now.

Hey boss, this has been discussed in detail regarding wheel backspacing.(Search: 5th Gen Wheel Backspacing should yield a ton more info regarding wheel spec information) Generally to maximize clearance from the suspension most people that run 17x9 do so with a -12mm offset, 4.53" backspacing.

I followed Hellamatic setup and it looks great. I went with the 18"x9 -12mm wheel. Love them.

Not to jack the thread but where are you guys buying the -12 offset other than where the OP found them on Jeg's? I looked at a couple websites and they both had them fitting the 4runner at +12 offset and 5.43 backspacing.

You might want to give PMC Tire a try (Pneus Moins Cher). They are based in Sherbrooke and sell Ultra Wheels. They have a decent website and should be more local to you. Keep in mind that if you order from the US you'll have to pay shipping and duty. Mind you, I just bought a set of wheels from Discount Direct--duty and taxes was $200. No shipping charge.

The easiest place I've found to figure out what the effect of different offset and/or back spacing, wheel size, etc, will have is this website: Custom rims, wheel tire packages for your ride - RIMSnTIRES.com

You just plug in your original info, then the new sizes, and it'll tell you what the difference is. Saved me breaking my head!
