Ultragauge and Transmission Temps

So I have been looking into getting the scan gauge. But am I understanding correct that if it’s a 98 or older it won’t read a trans temp?

Correct. Transmission temp is only available on 99 and newer automatics. 98 and older you will need to find an alternative way to monitor transmission fluid temperatures.
