I second this recommendation. Kevin has been treating my 4Runner every October for the past 4 years. Since owning this 4Runner it has never gone w/o Fluid Film and it shows. AS for it washing it off, I don't have the problem at all. I use my 4Runner and when its time to clean i pressure wash and the Fluid Films holds up. The dude is thorough but he books up quickly, so get on that Facebook group if you dont want the hassle of doing it yourself.

If you're looking to get it done, there's a company called DCP DuPage Corrosion Protection. The guy who runs it is a local 4Runner guy, and it sounds as though he runs the best deal in town (~$100-150). I haven't personally used him, but he gets great reviews from the folks in the Chicago 4Runner facebook group. He used to do fluidfilm coatings at Chitown 4x4 and ended up turning it into a business. I recommend getting added to the facebook group and using the search bar if you want more testimonials.

I second that. Kevin is a great guy and does a very good job. I've just recently moved to Evanston from Texas and wanted to keep the undercarriage of my truck as if it were still living in Texas. Found out through this thread (and later the facebook community) so wanted to follow up here as well. It's a bit of a drive to his place from where I live but totally worth it. He also has a nicely built 200 series that you can admire while your rig is getting a coating..

PSA: He does it out of his garage so get his address after you book an appointment. The address on his FB page is that of his mailbox.

Moving from Texas to Evanston must have been quite a change, but it's awesome that you found a reliable person to help maintain your truck's undercarriage. On a different note, if you're ever in the mood for romance, Chicago offers some of the most romantic things to do. From strolling along the Navy Pier to enjoying a romantic dinner with a stunning skyline view, there are plenty of options to create special moments.

I normally put a tarp down on the driveway and either jack stand the truck or run the front or rear wheels up ramps.

I worked for 6 months in Chicago, from April through October. Have done business trips there every month of the year. It’s a strong pass for me. Also, every steel bridge there is rotting from rust. It is rust belt central.
