Underseat amp options - mine doesnt fit

I was hoping to use the 5 channel amp I had in my 3rd gen the same way in my 4th gen.

It is a Alpine MRV-F450 and fit perfectly under my drivers seat. I tried to mock it up in my truck tonight and no go. Seems the seat is just a lot lower to the floor. I don't have power seats so guessing there isn't much I can do.

The amp I have measures roughly 17"wide x 2.5" high x 11.5" long.

Does anyone have an amp under their driver seat? If so, what size/brand/etc is it?

I'm just looking to power my front components and rear sub. I'd like to avoid using two amps and keep it simple. My current amp would allow 3 channel mode with 150wx2 at 4ohm and 200wx1 at 4ohm, which was sufficient.

Anyone have some suggestions? Help with what fits?

i've used the kicker impluse 354xi and the sundown 50x4 saz. i don't know the measurements of the amps but they fit well. i used it for mids/highs. try looking into 4 channel amps.

how much power are you trying to put to your components and subs?

well i was really going to power the rear doors from the HU and replace the fronts with the JBL MS-62's. Thinking around 100rms to each side would be enough for that set.

For the sub, I was thinking a JBL GTO sub but until now, I was thinking of a SVC sub based on my Alpine amp since it wasnt stable under 4ohm. Since that's out the window, I'm flexible. Was thinking anywhere from 90-120w RMS for each front channel, and up to 400w rms to sub. Was thinking an A/B amp since using full range D is new to me. And the sub would ideally be installed in a stealth enclosure so minimal enclosure like .4^3ft max will be used.

That sundown looks to measure ~10"w x 2.2" H x 20" L. How does that fit when mine is 2.5" high? I guess I'm just .3" too tall? Does yours hang into the rear passengers foot area?

The sundown did look tall but it fits fine and didn't touch the driver seat. It didn't hang out the passenger foot area but is visable. Still sits under the grove. But it won't give you the power you are looking for. Most of the amps that I was able to fit are around 50x4. Anything bigger than the sundown won't fit.

Thinking maybe PPI P900.4, Alpine MRX-V70, or PPI BK800.4. Something like that may work. I just hope that they are reliable. If these don't work, maybe I'll look for an old school cheater amp.

I've heard a lot of good things about all 3 amps but never owned any. You can never go wrong with old school cheater amps either.

I have three of the PPI Phantoms. Two 900.4's and a 1000.1

Had them a decent amount of time now, and never had a single issue with any of them. They put out rated power +, and do it efficiently.

Can't help you on the under seat mounting fitment since mine are mounted behind the rear seatback, but they are small and I can't imagine them NOT fitting.

Thanks guys. I'll give the 900.4 a shot. Seems to be 2" tall so if Hert's fit, this should fit without problem.
