Universal Coilovers?

I was doing some searching last night and came across an old article off-road.com.

Anyone ever tried something like this on a 4th Gen? The basic idea seems simple enough. Dirt Kind sells a Coil Bucket Mount for the 4th Gen 4runner.

Coil Bucket Shock Mounts

Seems like it would open up a few more options - especially in the used arena where tons of folks use standard coils overs for all kinds of different applications.

It would take a little more work I am sure, but the shock manufacturer should be able to provide valving specifications for the shocks for the 4runner. Again, a little more work, but if buying used, often a rebuild is in the picture anyway - revalving wouldn't require much more work or cash.

Don't think this is for me right now, but I see a heck of a lot of used standard Fox, Sway-A-Way, etc. coilovers floating around on different boards/groups. The off-road article made me curious.
