The reverse light switch is on the transmission. It's called the PNP switch. Have some one in the truck move the shifter into reverse, then neutral slowly while you stand in the back and see if the lights go on. If it flashes then it sounds like the PNP switch needs to be aligned correctly on the transmission. If it doesn't turn on at all, then the switch is defective or the fuse is loose.
You can also try to put the shifter in reverse and try to start the truck. (make sure you step on the brakes while starting) If it starts, turn off the engine and put the shifter in 2nd and start it again. If it starts, then the switch is bad, if it doesn't start that means that the PNP switch just needs adjustment. There is one bolt on top of the PNP switch that holds it in place. Loosen it and move it either forward or backwards a little (about 1 mm) and tighen it back up and try the reverse lights again.
