update on the direction i went after boot tear/CV axle play

Thanks to everyone who helped me navigate the CV axle issue.

I was able to have indi mechanic get two MaxDrive Napa axles with lifetime warranty installed. I heard they are decently strong (i do offroad my truck)
and im keeping my stock ones to rebuild or send out to cvj. whats nice for me is the mechanic will deal with the lifetime warranty if maxdrive napas break, and ill be charged for labor only.

They cost him $160ish a piece, well see what the damage is a bit later.

Nice, this is the route I’m going as well. The ones with the the thermoplastic boots on the outside are only $117 a pop before coupons!

i love how they charge this truck in terms of ive never had the truck stay more than a half or full shift over there. my two axles will be done today he said. they do our company's fleet of elec-tech vans and i deal with his wife for our company's insurance so i might have some pull with this shop
. even when i gave him new ujoint/shaft assembly for steering shaft, torched old one out, steering back to normal etc.

we have some cold temps and snow heading our way so my truck will be ready to play with the jeeps again.

paid $69x.xx for two new maxdrive napa axles installed and a new ball joint on one side because he had to drill one off or something for one of the axles (little smirk from me because had i tackled this alone thatd be a variable that i could associate cost or inefficiency to $$, the unknown) dropped her off before work and have it back now.

looking forward to continuing the build and wheeling the 4runner lol knock on wood.

Depends on which model MaxDrives he bought - NMD 944082 have the "Optional Heavy Duty Thermoplastic Outboard Boot." The NMD 944052 have the "Standard Neoprene Outboard Boot."
