***UPDATED IN THE COMMENTS*** Looking for help. Wet drivers side floor from rain

Hey guys, recent development, when it rains my drivers side floor mat gets soggy wet. Part of me wants to say it gets more wet inside even when only parked in the rain like overnight, or it might just stay wet for a while. Drivers door seal is tight and not wet. Checked the engine bay and didn’t see anything obvious. Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks

No it doesn’t have a sunroof. The top of the floor Matt is mostly dry but when I pull the floor mat up the carpet underneath is pretty soggy. And water is definitely not coming down the inside of the door jam. There has got to be something from the under carriage somewhere I just couldn’t see anything under there.

Soaked passenger side is usually a clogged AC condenser line.

I checked under neath and didn’t see anything hanging or any obvious spots where it could be coming in from. Definitely seems like it’s got to be coming up from underneath somewhere though because everything higher is dry.

heater core. unless you have drain tubes like the sunroofs do. if so, check where the fender meets the rocker panel and clear out debri from in there

The heater core and AC evaporator are both in the same enclosure in the passenger's side of the dash against the firewall, the cabin air filter is on top of the enclosure.

rpete have you or the previous owner if you haven't owned it that long ever had the windshield replaced?

If so and they didn't install/seal it correctly it can leak down inside the A pillar and it hard to detect/see unless you pull the side panel off, several members here have had this issue after a windshield replacement.

Pull the lower side panel under the dash off and have someone use a water hose to flood that side of the windshield and see if you can detect the possible leak down the A pillar.

I guess it's possible..but I have never heard of the windshield leak down the pillar unless it was because of a new windshield being install/sealed incorrectly.

My memory is not the best sometimes..but if I recall correctly, it leaks because there are drainage holes in the windshield flange and when some installers seal the new windshield to the flange they also seal the drainage holes and the water has nowhere to go but down inside the A pillar, so I guess if somehow the drainage holes get clogged..which I have never heard of happening...it would make it leak down inside the A pillar.

If you search the 4th gen forum for leaking windshield or similar you should find some of the post about this incorrect install issue.

**update** I got off work today and tore some things apart. Checked the windshield and on the outside there is a small rubber trim that the end had curled up a bit on. I fixed that but don’t think it was the problem. The floor board carpet is only wet on the flat surfaces. Behind the pedals on the side walls is not wet at all. Also it was considerably more wet when I came out of work this afternoon then when I parked it this morning and it did rain all day. Pulled some of the doorway trim off at the bottom and it looks like underneath the carpet is wet as well. There were a few imperfections with the molding going around the door that I fixed but nothing majorly obvious. I would assume that the molding is the most probable cause especially because it got way more wet while parked sitting in the rainstorm? Also mention though that the doorway trim I pulled off, it runs along the bottom in between the seat and the door and covers a bunch of electrical wires, it was wet underneath what that covered but the upward facing top part of the molding was not wet at all. Any ideas?? Thanks for the long read!!

Do you have damage to the plastic piece that lays between the hood and windshield (sorry can't think of the part name)?

I have a hole there from a bad hail storm. Anytime I go through the car wash or we get a lot of rain, I get the exact issue you're describing, although on the passenger side. I'm thinking it drips directly straight down from where the blower motor is located (inside glove compartment), that's why the very back by the firewall isn't wet. Just my .02

I found a better explanation for where the water is coming from. It is running down along the backside of the firewall somewhere down to the floorboard and then through the carpet on the drivers side. I can’t see anything on the outside that runs to there. I’ve heard a lot of people recommending to clean my sunroof drains but I don’t have a sunroof and can’t find any drains either. The the backside of the firewall does feel wet from what I pulled up. It’s got to be something with the A-pillar drain but I can’t find anything on here where it shows how to clean those.

Thanks everyone for the advice. Turns out it was a very terribly installed windshield from at least 3+ years ago that the glue suddenly failed on
