Looks good :bigok:

I missed the lead up. Why? Do you prefer a little more rake or were you looking for some other atrribute?

I mean it, looks good, really good! :bigok:

thanks man...I did want/like the factory rake better...I didnt like how the front would seem higher when parked uphill or towing with the 2/1...

Looks great! Im not a 4th gen guy, but i hope to be someday.

Could you tell me what the difference is between the 2/1 and 2/2? and why is it called cornfed? lol. I could probly search, but i'd like to hear it from you :biggrin2:

Thanks!

Cornfed is the brand of the lift spacers manufacturer.

It's a 2/1, because it lifts the the front by 2" and the rear by 1". A 2/2, raises both the front and rear by 2". In Lou's case, the factory rake is retained (nose is a little lower than the rear). Most lifts you see will be 2/1 or 3/2 by a lot of members because they want to eliminate that rake look. The nose on a stock 4th gen 4Runner is about 1" lower than the rear.

Very cool. The parked uphill thing doesn't bother me too much. I too hate butt-low when towing or loaded. I also like some rake on level ground or when driving. Nothing screams "overloaded/wimpy" like butt-low IMHO (even if it's not true).:biggrin2:

Sorry to bring up this old post, but I am wondering where you bought the 2/2. I've been looking, but all I can find is either the 2/1, or 3/2. I prefer the look of the stock rake as well, and do some towing with my 4Runner, so I don't want the a$$ to sag with a trailer hooked up.

Any issues with the front suspension in the past year since you've installed the lift?

I have not seen a recent post from Lou so I'll try... Jason at Burtman industries can bundle any combo. Just email him and mention you're on T4R.org.

These spacer kits come up on the for sale section here, T120 and some of the FJC boards. You might be able to piece meal the spacers for a lot less than new spacers. The Cornfed spacers are solid aluminum and don't 'wear out'.

Many people use spacer lifts in the 2-3" range with no problems. A few people have run into a weeping CV boot when they install the lift. The OE clamps suck. Kmvreter did a great "how to" on reclamping the boots here: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=37107

I was considring getting both kits if I had to, but it's good to know that it won't be necessary.

I was thinking that the CV boots/joints would be the main problem area. 2" isn't very much lift, but it could cause everything to wear prematurely. My 4Runner is full time 4WD, so that would just exacerbate the problem. My other concern would be the XREAS suspension on the sport models... is 2" too much for the shocks?

Anyone have a link to directions of the install for these spacers?

You'll be fine with 2", especially sine a 2" spacer ends up at about 1.5-1.75" after it settles in a few thousand miles. Where you run into issues with the CV's is if you go over 3.5". Why do you think full-time 4WD makes the issue any worse? All 4WD models have CV's.

The Xreas can handle spacers fine.

Josh is right, before I went to my coilovers, I had a Cornfed 3/1 (the other half of Lous kit :D ) and FJ springs, so I was at over 3 inches of lift in the front and had no problems with the XREAS.

:iagree: 100%

If you look at the CV's now they are angled up a bit. With a lift in 2" range they'll be at about the same angle but the shaft will be at a small down angle.

I noticed this afternoon that they were angled up a bit, which makes me feel better. Now I just need to figure out which lift to go with and get it ordered!

On that note, does anyone know where I could get some bump stop spacers? I have some Tembren overloads installed on my 4Runner and want to keep them useable, so I would need a spacer that is equal size to the lift that I put on the rear. Any thoughts on where to get some?

I am assuming you're talking about the rear bump stops... Many of the rear spacer installs go above the bump stop so there's no issue. If you're talking front I wouldn't do anything.
